Fury 5 - 1 up after the first 6, the knockdown swung the fight in Usyk favour with it being a 10/8 round, Usyk won the second half of the fight. Very close fight in the end, the correct decision to give Usyk the win but their wasn't much in it at all, Tyson can definitely win the rematch.

Fury can fight Joshua for the best of the rest title

  • @JonDingle
    @JonDingle14 күн бұрын

    The fight should have been stopped in Round 9. Arguing that "the ropes propped him up" so its a standing 8 count is actually stupid because almost every boxer that has lost on a stoppage against the ropes could argue that they should have had a standing 8 count. There shouldn't be any standing count. The ref stepped in and stopped Usyk from striking Fury, therefore, the fight was over.

    Usyk took some big body shots and ate a huge uppercut, was visibly shaken and he took another few heavy shots. The most important difference was he took them all just about whereas Fury took some of those big shots from Usyk but one eventually bust his nose visibly changing the course of the fight back favor of Usyk and then another of Usyk's big swooping lefts buckled Fury into sleep walking. Amazing how Fury respawned for the next round almost like that never happened. Crazy recovery ability.

    14 күн бұрын

    @@joshormerod5382 It was a great fight all things considered and I felt a lot of rounds were very close where I'd completely understand judges struggling who to give those rounds to which could have translated into a pretty dramatic and unfair scoreline in favor of one or the other. I feel Usyk was the deserving winner overall. He was pushed hard which is a credit to Fury's turnaround after that Francis nightmare where he looked shot, and Fury to his credit landed big punishing shots on Usyk but in that was the difference where Usyk weathered those little storms but Fury didn't. Usyk buckled Fury spectacularly and I'm still not sure if the ref was correct in giving Fury an 8 count or if he should have waved off the fight or if he should have allowed Usyk work on him a bit more that surely would have put Fury on the canvas, potentially not to get back up again given how bad a state he was in and what one or two more big shots would have done on top of that. I'd like the rematch tbh. I saw enough from Fury in most rounds to suggest that if he was sharper and mass a few adjustments could do better, and equally I could say the same about Usyk and how he could perhaps win a bit more comfortably next time.

  • @bluemarvelous

    Spot on... I think Fury's mistake was staying on the outside when he found his pocket. There was a point where his shots were offsetting Usyk's rhythm and made him back track, that's when he should've walked him down, put him under pressure and try to pick him off. His corner let him down just like AJs did in his first fight with Usyk!! Can't see Fury winning the rematch either. Usyk took his best shots and wasn't even stunned.. Great fight, but the ref spoiled it..

    @@bluemarvelous All I could hear from Fury's corner was John roaring obnoxiously over Sugar and Andy. With that circus going on I've no idea how Fury's got this far tbh. I guess the fight highlights just how talented Fury is that he can casually dip in and out of boxing, blow up in size eating tons of junk food and mugging pints, live a life far from being disciplined or committed to boxing as he should be. We can only imagine how good Fury could have been had he committed to boxing the way Usyk and others did. You never see those guys out mugging beers and out of shape like a balloon. They live and breath boxing, always training, the best dieticians and yet Fury can still be that good without much of that.
