This is pretty wild that I found your video. I too am a paratrooper from the 82nd Airborne but not Vietnam. My father was 101st during Vietnam. I have an old wooden footlocker from WW2 from a family friend. I love them so much I picked one up at a yard sale. Then I shocked to find the bottom rotting out. It's old plywood just like your fathers. Thanks for the help video. Salute to your father for his service to our great nation.

Thanks for this. Really enjoyed the video, you will have a bright future as KZreadrs, I am certain. I have a footlocker from the same period. It served the original owner all the way through his Army career, carried my gear through 20 years as a Marine, and now my son is entering the Air Force. My goal is to refinish the trunk and present it to him when he finishes school. One question, the trunk has the original antique locks on it, but no keys. Do you know a good source for a replacement key or a lock? Thanks again!
I have one, and I can't find paint stripper strong enough to get through that military paint. What did you use? It's driving me crazy. 1949 Doehler foot locker.
