With the victory of Cèline Dion for Switzerland in 1988, it was time for the first Eurovision host of 1956 to hold the event once again, this time in Lausanne. And when all the rest of Europe (and the World!) came to the Swiss Federation, the swiss would definitly show which country we were being to. For Marie Louise Werth and her group Furbaz, who came second in the Swiss final 1988 - lost to Cèline Dion - they came on to be the first and today the only, who performed a song in the beautiful language of raeto-romansch, spoken only in The Vatican State and in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. "Viver Senza Tei" - "To Live Without You". ENJOY!

This song should have got much more votes in 1989. But well - it has not been the time for such a nice melody. The language is Romansh - one of the official languages of Switzerland. I am glad that I could listen to this language on a hiking trip in the Swiss and Italian alp region more than 15 years ago. I remember just one word - a very nice greeting when I met other people: Allegra!

In the Italian Alp region the language must've been Western Lombard but yes it indeed sounds similar to Rumansch.
