Which would add an extra layer to the audience response. i.e., Sean accidentally referred to a tipe of slang. Don't know. You Brits would know more about it than me, an Australian. But, whatever, the timing is perfect.

When I first saw this on an out-take program, I had to watch it in installments, I literally couldn't breath from laughing so hard. It just gets funnier and funnier the more it goes on. It's the funniest thing I have ever seen, Catchphrase or anything else.

It saw it in a special called The Most Outrageous Game Show Moments. They didn’t edit out the hand movement, but they removed all the catchphrase. It just showed the squares being removed.

Oh man, this is the funniest thing I've ever seen. When the snake head is revealed I just die. This will never get old.

This never, EVER gets old! I've seen this lord knows how many times, and it keeps getting funnier every single time that I see it!

This is still hilarious. Roy Walker's reaction is so genuine and funny. It makes the whole video so much better. The female contestant clearly doesn't get it or see the funny side to any of this.

I have no idea how many times I would have to watch this to stop finding it funny..... Genuinely the funniest thing I have ever seen on a TV Game show. The wink of the eye, the hat in hand, then the snake....golden moment.

I love it at 1:44 when Roy just completely loses it and cracks up... probably the funniest tv clip in British tv history. Class!

I thought Roy's reaction is the best. But, there is one guy in the audience whom I always hear above the rest of the audience. He seems to get it above all.

I love how Roy Walker just loses it when the snake appears.

I remember this one, it was so funny, and was great to watch it again, and its still very funny, Roy Walkers face, you could see him trying to hold back the laughter.

LOL! I actually saw this episode when it aired. Couldn't believe how oblivious the female contestant was. Best bit is when the snake's head is revealed - I was on the floor laughing!

it's made funnier by the fact that they're all thinking the same thing (i.e. Mr.Chips wanking) but no-one says anything, they just laugh. lol

I love this!! Saw it on tv years ago and nearly peed myself laughing. Just love seeing the host Roy Walker, who used to be a stand-up comedian, trying to keep it together. Brilliant.

We do - watch The Chase, and Catchphrase is still on, though possibly only during holiday time like Christmas. Stephen Mulhern presents Catchphrase now, and there was another hilarious bonus board with the Catchphrase "Dicing with Death" which had everyone cracking up because it looked like someone w**king 😂😂

What makes this excellent is that if they had picked it ANY different order it would have stopped being funny. It was perfect!!

It wasn't so much of the possible image of wanking himself, but rather the "here comes the bonus" part (1:25 on). My reaction seeing it myself was, "What the hell is that?!" The audience felt the same way, too, and Roy Walker contributed when we saw him laughing with us. One of the best moments in television.

Love it when the crowd goes crazy and laughs when they see the picture.

I worked on Catch Phrase Australia back in the day and we did stuff like this in the 9 square puzzles all the time. If they were exposed in the correct order they would be hysterical.
