I saw Little Richard at the Birmingham Town Hall (England) in 64. Jimi was in his band on that tour.

Great lesson as usual! I’m glad you said this stuff isn’t easy because that’s my experience. Very fun but not easy. Go Corey! Go Papastache!

Lots of great little nuggets in the seemingly basic lesson. Loved the almost offhand aside about "keeping harmonies tight". What a great name to put to a sound I strive for/prefer but hadn't really identified the reason I like it so much. Corey is an excellent teacher. Great vid.

zbqb84a the first quarter/semester of tonal harmony in college covers this concept in detail. If you have a local community college, this could be an interesting challenge.

Hey Corey, what a great lesson! I was wondering if you always begin the bubble picking on an upstroke of the pick and strike air downwards beforehand to get the timing right? Thanks in advance!

  • @nelsonw2096

OK Corey, first of all I"ve been watching this video a lot and working on the parts. Thanks for that. Second of all a question: what's the difference between bubble picking and ghost notes? I'm guessing it's a matter of degree, but since you live in both country and rock worlds you're as good of a resource as anyone and better than most. Please let us know. Thanks!

@@BrettPapa yeah, I was thinking about Jimmy Nolen and his funky rhythms. enjoy your tutorials. trying to get back into playing again. wish they're had been a youtube when I was a kid! but having said that...it sure didn't stop a lot of great players from innovating!
