Functional Wellness is a Moving Target

To tackle our vulnerabilities and future risk we need to step back and take a broad view of our behavioral health and our movement health. (These aren’t as isolated as you may think . . . plenty of movement problems begin with questionable decisions.)
We use surveys to look at your behavioral health, but we can get a more accurate picture of your movement health with screening. Once we have gathered the information, let’s not be tempted to act before we truly understand where our baseline values need to be. As Gray says, “Don’t be comfortable with ‘not good enough.’”
That doesn’t necessarily start with exercise. The self-care that’s required for Functional Wellness starts with managing your minimums in the following interconnected domains:
Breathing
Sleep
Nutrition
Movement Health
Behavioral Health
Activity Level
Body Composition, and
Injury History
