    I knew it was a matter of time before some brilliant madman did this. The details, the introduction of 4-strokes, turbo-props and wheel brakes. Next they'll be shooting ILS approaches.

    Thanks Kyle! It definitely is madness but it's a great feeling when a plan comes together in the end. IMHO, ILS approaches won't come because in the RC world you already have fully autonomous GPS landings with Lidar rangefinder support in the final approach. That would have been unthinkable 15 years ago... Next thing might be larger FPV formation flights with preprogrammed autopilots in swarm mode.

    This is insane! First rate work! Do you have a build log? One thing for scale fpv warbirds that I would die for, is a functional ASI. 3D Robotics used to have an air speed sensor that I was playing with a few years ago, the sensor would output varying volts that I was going to display on an LCD, but no idea how to have the voltage output operate a servo driven gauge needle, which would be required for a warbird.

    Here's my build log. www.rcscalebuilder.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=23196&PN=1&TPN=29 cockpit panel starts at about page 20. Pitot tube speed sensors for models can be linked to telemetry, so there's an output but I have no idea how to convert telemetry protocol to PWM signal for servo use. There is a German company that makes functional ASI for larger RC gliders. Look here: scale-avionics.com/videos/ Too large for my scale though.

    Thank you! The variometer has been updated. It's now a real barometric variometer. I can change my Arduino programming code so that the vario displays either the real m/s sink rate or the sinkrate scaled down to 1/6. A Kalman filter smoothes out sudden pressure changes, enhancing scale appearance of the needle movement. In a few weeks, I'll post a video of the pan/tilt mechanism of the onboard FPV camera which also features a custommade radio controlled servo motor focus to toggle between infinity focus for the gunsight and short distance focus for the working instruments.

    Hello. It looks really great. I fly with Fpv systems. I am using ground control station to manage the flight. I am using pixhawk as autopilot and transmit telemetry data to ground. I want to ask, can this console that you made with telemetry data be used in real time?

  • @tim79de

    @tim79de

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hello, my instruments are a stand alone system. It can be used without an autopilot. Data input is via Arduino Nano and sensors. If you use a flight controller with integrated OSD, you could of course use this data as a backup on your video image because the OSD is better readable than the gauges and unrelated to the camera's focus. Either the instruments or the background will be blurred or both a little. I will use a microservo on an RC channel to toggle between close distance and infinity focus setting.
