The world feels worse in so many ways today than it did in the 1980s... and yet when I think to myself, "I wonder if J.D. Roth's Fun House still exists somewhere," I turn on the internet and here it is! I'm so grateful for this walk down memory lane. We live in a truly great age to be nostalgic for our childhoods. I used to love to watch this show all the time and I never forgot meeting JD Roth! He was the 1st "celebrity from T.V." I ever met!😊 He was a guest host at our Annual Thanksgiving day parade in Chicago and I was able to go up to him after the Parade and got up the nerve to ask him for an autograph he was really nice! #80sbabiesRule

I believe JD also did "Game Pro" video game magazine show in which he would unveiled the latest secret codes and latest games of that time. I remember waking my kid ass early at 7am on Saturday just to watch Game Pro! Amazing times to be a kid!

I would watch this show every day. And then one day I came home to find the channel had switched to being Family Channel. I was chagrined.

This was definitely a show I wanted to be on. Other than Double Dare. I remember sitting at home and watching!

i miss this show this was so my childhood show and I still have the race theme stuck in my head for over 25 years

I can remember watching this specific episode when it was on tv, only because i was freaking out at how slow the kids were moving. I know the uploader is one of the contestants, so I mean no disrespect, but I've remembered you for thirty years now, lol. Can't believe I've found and got to rewatch the only episode I actually remember!

This show and Legends of the Hidden Temple were my childhood, lol.

Oh damn does this sure being back many great memories! This was when my life was at it's peak, and used to watch the hell out of this great show back in the day too! It's hard to believe that J.D. Roth was only in his late teens/early twenties when he hosted Fun House though!

I watched Fun House on WDCA in D.C. when it was syndicated from 1988 until 1990, when it moved to Fox, picking up and renaming it Fox's Fun House for the 3rd season and became a weekly Saturday morning offering, airing on Saturday Mornings as part of FOX KIDS on Fox affiliate WTTG/5 beginning on September 8, 1990 until April 13, 1991, when it was replaced by Swamp Thing.

Eric this is a really good quality tape of the episode. Did Fun House actually provide you with their own official tape of the show for being a contestant or did you just timer record it on the highest setting from home? Also, tell us about your experience. I loved watching this show as a kid and dreamed of being a contestant. Was it as enjoyable an experience to be on as it was to watch? Or were there all kinds of hidden inconveniences off camera? Did you like working with J.D. and Tiny or no?

They need an adult version of the Fun House for the kids who grew up with this show! College Madhouse doesn't count, because we are all way past college age now.

For a moment, I thought that "Tiny" was Rod Roddy in disguise.

As a kid, I used to be so excited but now I realize the runner up just gets a hundred buck and the winners could get camera, telephone set bicycle etc lol. A television show of such level offering just this ... Now it really feels funny.

There's an aboslute huge difference in the US/UK versions of the show. Mainly that it's illegal to give kids cash on game shows, and also (then) prizes like the power prize had to be won by skill based means, instead of luck based means.
