Back when Nickelodeon was gold for us 80’s kids.
I remember vividly coming home from school super excited to turn on the television set and watch this show, right along with Double Dare. The good ole days of my youth. 🤗

Wild And Crazy Kids and G.U.T.S was the bomb. Those were my favorites also as a kid
I haven't thought about this show in over 20 years. And as I'm sitting here in bed dozing off, a mental image of a kid searching through a room popped into my mind. I knew it had to be a Nickelodeon game show because they had a lot of shows with kids searching through junk. But this memory was specific. So I Google Nickelodeon 90s game shows and this pops up. Just marveling at the wonders of the internet, Nickelodeon in the 90s, and how memory works.
I remember watching this, and Mr. Wizard, Double Dare, and You Can't Do That On Television
Back in Nickelodeon's golden years. When their shows weren't all horrendous and extremely uneducational. In fact, they were not only great shows, but very educational. Even one of their classics-- You Can't Do That On Television-- was educational in a cryptic sort of way. Very interesting show.

I disagree. MOST of there shows were never educational. That’s why I liked them. They were better than the ones today but they were never educational. In fact, the creator of You Can’t Do that on Television specifically made sure his show wasn’t educational because PBS and most other kids shows had that market tied up already.
If nick hasn't done this already, I hope they bring this show back because I always got really excited watching kids demolish rooms like this.

I'm glad you got to go to Space Camp, that's awesome. I used to watch this and think it had one of the toughest bonus rounds in all the kids game shows I used to watch. It looked like kids had to look for needles in haystacks with not enough time and it looked impossible sometimes. There were 3 rooms left and you guys were pretty quick and efficient. They needed to put more time on that clock. I think they just didn't want anyone to win the whole thing lol

@greenwater735 Double Dare was out first and already Blue and Red, and the part that noone says anything about is that we all got Converse All Star Sneakers!!!! They said that they were safe to run around in... mine were bright orange, but I wore them every day for almost a year anyway!!!
Thanks for posting this! I couldn't think that fast- those kids were ahead of me! They start tearing up the room while I'm still trying to think of what they should be looking for. The hidden images, I didn't catch any of the hidden image ones until after the kids said what they were.

@janesmith7676

Also, I suppose it differed from fellow show Double Dare in that the latter really put Nickelodeon on the map and spawned multiple variation shows which prolonged its momentum (into the 90s). Besides of course creating a big star and human mascot for the network in Marc Summers. Whereas while FK was fairly popular for about 1-2 years, it more or less just came and went (quietly).
I always thought the teams were friends, relatives, whatever. But apparently they didn't even know each other (most times). That's why most of the kids seem so nervous and anxious.
they should really bring this show back or at least one of them..

I always wondered what went into the production of this show? How they were able to change up the rooms constantly, how they were able to reset all the rooms between rounds too.
The Cosby sweater.
I like how its kind of.....not professional with the kids being awkward and not scripted, seeing the producers and cameras, and the host messing up lines and being weirs.

I wonder if the early taped episodes of Finders Keepers inspired Double Dare go to Blue & Red?
@Mr. matthew smith [& everybody else] here, yes, back on Thursday, January 14, 1988, this then-"Finders Keepers" game show had Mr. Wesley Eure as its previous host[though actually, his real last name's "Loper"] just as his former studio announcer there was Mr. John Harvey[though usually called only "Harvey"]!
I prefer the 90's UK version with Neil Buchanan but interesting to see the original USA one.
They should've automatically given each team 1 room to search. I've seen too many episodes where one team has several rooms while the other has none. It's always kinda sad...
