@@MrJmanmonkey Same! I’ve been thinking this since the first time I heard it, it’s so interesting and entertaining how everything is intertwined in such deep ways.

The saddest part is how Polites and Odysseus's mother don't even notice him, like they're trapped in one moment for ever. I knew it wasn't going to be a happy reunion, but this is worse than I thought. This is even worse than if they had gotten angry and blamed him for their deaths.

The tenderness in “…I took too long” breaks my heart so deeply. Him realizing how mush she missed him as she was dying is so hard to hear. It shows how well it was done.

When I saw Wanda Herrans as the names listed I immediately knew

This part of the song made me and my sister cry super hard last night during the live stream. It hurt so much to hear the pain in Odysseus’s voice. Everyone’s talking about how talented you are for writing and producing this musical, while I’m over here like, “THIS MAN CAN ACT THROUGH HIS VOCALS BETTER THAN LEGITIMATE ACTORS.” And yes, you are extremely talented for creating the musical but as a theatre kid I admire how you act through your vocals! 😂 You’re mom’s voice is absolutely beautiful❤️

It is as if Odysseus remembers his mother for himself - a young, beautiful ruler who will always remain with a gentle voice and will sing him a kind lullaby. How Odysseus' mother sits gently on an armchair, her hands tucked not to her chest, but to her heart, and meanwhile you can hear her singing for Odysseus - it's incredibly beautiful! The canonical image of Odyssey's mother is space! The little details are just a miracle!
