It is pretty obvious honestly, the reasons are: 1. Economics of Scale: when the components used are similar to the existing Euro VI MAN buses, it makes things such as sourcing replacement parts easier. Compared to the Volvo B8L, which you would need to source exclusive parts for 2. Better for SG's GDP, because a cut will go to ST Engineering, a Singapore company

STE is owned by Ho Jinx. All profits stay in the FamiLEE.

@@andrewsitu3472 since ST Engineering Land Systems Ltd (the name of the registered biz) is Registered as an SG company, any money made "stays" and Singapore and not leak overseas. Regardless of the owner of most of the shares And the money does not necessarily stay with the Lee's. Any spending by the company will add to SG's GDP, and any money spend on STE, means the money is tucked in Singapore GDP is honestly a pretty shitty way to measure economic progress in SG

@@lemonnarc yeah, should measure happiness instead like Bhutan lol
The failure of SG4003D led to be one of the most successful acquistions by a private operator named A&S Transit, re-registered it as PD169L.
damn it volvo b8l is my fav looking bus
B8L later found a niche market in the Klang Valley.
Nice Video! Both B8L and A95 are good for me. It is very lucky that B8L was bought by A&S and can continue to drive on roads unlike other failed demos that got scrapped...

@@lemonnarc but their KUBs only €3, at most €4 nia. Then again, our €5 ones are older.
For MAN A95 (Batch 5), it's still not an issue tbh..... despite cheaper, it's still reliable honestly
I think b8l is something like b9tl, which has no announcements so lta prefer a95
Odd that most buses whick looks aesthetically nice fails the trial
At least the Volvo B8L was given to A&S Transit instead of being thrown to storage
