Ive been trying to find online lessons for Lingala and watching your videos has made me full in love with the language even more! It's a very beautiful language x
I'm an ESOL teacher in the USA. Most of my students are from Congo Kinshasa or Angola. Yesterday, one of my students was like "Teacher, you speak Lingala!" based on the fact that I sometimes say "yo!" as a greeting and because i know what fufu is. (Because its ny job to know! XD) So here I am, brushing up on my Lingala! I don't want to let them down! 😭 thank you for your lovely videos!
Hey Family! Hope you enjoyed! What was your favourite Lingala phrase? Mine was “Oh my Nzambe!”. 😂 Love you all! 🤩🤩🤩❤️❤️

Mokolo malamu, nazali na motuna. I am unclear on the endings of words in Lingala. Not the tenses: i, ki, ka. The confusion is around these: esa, isa, asa, eli, ana, ela, and others I’ve noticed as I learn more vocabulary. Please make a video, or allow me to verbally explain if you are unclear about the request.
I am learning something. Lingala has always been a challenge especially when I am visiting Kinshasa. Thanks for teaching us

I got interested because I follow the half dutch/half congolese dance group Let It Happen, norah yarah and rosa, whose dad is from the Conga and they live in Maastricht Netherlands. Hi I’m from Kenya 🇰🇪, I love Lingala hope this online training will be of help, what’s the difference between Sango Nini and Boni?, thanks
@CongoTalks243
3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Sango nini means what’s up or what’s new? Boni means How but you can only use it as greeting to friends, not to older people. If you want to say how are you you can say Boni yo? (Singular for friends) Or Boni bino? (Plural for older people).
video actually starts at 1:10

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed. There is not much difference between the two Congo’s to be honest. They used to be one Kingdom before colonialism. One was colonised by the French and the other by the Belgians, but we still speak the same languages 😅🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

@W. Redburn Lingala is usually spoken with French words inside. It's not really code switching as there's a specific way to speak it, however it's hard to teach it that way because you just have to grow up with it. But when people teach Lingala they're teaching the actual, pure language you see here (as it should be, really).
@user-cl2hi9fo6j
Жыл бұрын
@W. Redburn That's nice! I never used/heard "sango nini" growing up, it was always "boni/boni bino" "oza bien/oza malamu?" etc. It's good that you're learning the pure way. It's always best to learn a language with the people around you 😊
It's beneficial for me ..but could you share us that when we use La , Ma , sa , Na in end of words because it is very hard for me.. please if you are comfortable so make a video on this point.
