Mike you've answered my questions twice now and I'm hooked . Ride a 2019 KTM 500 EXC-F with mucho aftermarket upgrades. Will be buying those fork turn signals , bought everything else last year from another to change out that honkin crapy rear stock light / fender . Thanks for all your expertise and incredibly fast response 👍

Definitely happy with the way my 500 Excf turned out based on Mike’s recommendations!! He knows his stuff and knows the difference between the capabilities of different mods and which mods are bogus or are right or wrong for your style! Thanks Mike! 🙏🏼

@@JoshDontStop Just put my spark arrestor / DB insert back into the FMF. Feels good not killing my ears all the time, and I actually notice more power from having it in!

YZ450f is known for having unmanageable power down low with stock pipe and tune. A custom tune with a ProCurcuit t-6 exhaust system and Twin Air filter with the flash arrestor screen cut away has made the bike soo much easier to ride. I needed an exhaust with a spark arrestor for enduro riding in MT. The bike went from being a death trap that couldn't put the power down predictably, to being by far the best dirtbike I've ever seen. Granted, ive done over 30 mods to get it there. Leaving the decibel killer in hasn't sacrificed any power down low, and believe me it's got more than enough everywhere. 60hp is a lot of power.

With the intake reed valve noise reducer removed, try removing the actual reeds from the reed housing and re-install the housing. It acts like a velocity stack and restores the correct velocity and throttle response. Works great.

I really like also the fmf with the baffle 🔥🚀

This is by far the best video i've seen when it comes to mufflers. I've been thinking of getting me a FMF or Akrapovic for my EXC-F 350(sold in sweden, so bassically uncorcked already) but it sounds that i should stick with the OEM-one.

For real!!

Anyone considering Taco should look at the work environment then go look at how Rottweiler Performance's shop looks. You've got a guy working out of his garage, subbing out tunes from another kid working in his parent's garage vs a top notch company complete with R&D dept, dyno, race background, someone who answers the phone (both before and AFTER the sale), ships on time and correctly, etc.

Would love a walk around of this guy's personal bike.

Tacomoto is the best. Nice engine off wheelie.

I have no idea what this person is talking about...However, that man is so absolutely knowledgeable that when I walk away I actually learned a lot. Hell, I even am thinking about getting my bike license. California kinda sucks for car transportation even though I don't think you can run these on the highways.

Can you comment on the bike motor and radiator temperature when you do stunts? How often the fan comes on it if is set to 190F?

It’s just set at whatever the stock temperature to come on. The only time the fan comes on is when it’s really hot outside . Like above 95 degrees and when I’m not moving . As along as you stay moving I’ve never had an issue

@@JoshDontStop Dude I absolutely love. It's uncorked for sure but almost seems more managable/smoothed out if thats even possible. Such a fun bike to ride and dealing with Taco Mike was top notch!

You should be using the ECU to get the power not blocking off the plpe ! backpressure is not good for the engine.

Man had to pry out those reeds but mine blow out multiple times while riding it

Hi Mike, I have the GET ECU with your MAPS and I just got the Graves Exhaust and needed to increase my engine idle screw about a 1/4 turn in, is this normal or should I make the adjustment in the GET instead?

Can u get the same numbers out of the excf 500 with the same mods

People is not aware that these need to be unrestricted and that they have about around 58hp on the dyno unrestricted. Official stats say only 39 hp and there is several videos showing them having only 39hp on the dyno so now lot of people now think the KTM 500 only has 39hp and look elsewhere for their need for power....

Yeah had both 450sx and 500 huge power difference so sold the 500 may be looking to find another and go threw the uncorking just seemed like a lot to do

Whatever bike you decided to get , make sure you have the 6speed transmission if you wanna ride on the road . Any Ktm with the 5 speed will run out of gear really fast

Here in Norway the KTM 500 EXC is street legal. I have a 2019 500 EXC with plates and it is really fun to ride and easy to control the power compared to my old Yamaha WR450.

Just bought my 2021 KTM 500 EXC-F and I'm struggling to find an exhaust for it... What model Graves is this???! Sounds amazing!

Weird how many more connections that Power Commander has than my Athena GET. I went GET and FMF 4.1 on my 2021 EXCF 500.... Would be interesting to ride a bike like yours back to back with mine.

I just got a 500 the 2022 model. Can I just put the muffler on or do I need the full set up. I heard you can’t just put mufflers on the 22 one bc of all the new technology on it but wasnt sure how true this was. Could you clear it up for me 😂

ya of course you can put on a new muffler with out any thing else and it will be just fine. But to take full advantage of the exhaust getting the tune will really help.

@@JoshDontStop no not true. The bikes are very lean from the factory. Adding an exhaust without changing fueling will lean it out even more.

Yo, does your CEL flash on when you let the bike idle for >~60 sec? Mine does that with the PC5

If removing the O2 sensor and adding emulator causes the error code (which is very annoying), why not just leave the O2 in place and skip the emulator.

I pulled the reeds, then inserted an aluminum tube. Velocity tube. Not sure what gains that afforded, but makes for a smooth air intake.

It’s not just a spark arrestor, the resonator insert moves the low end of power band down closer to idle and the hit off the bottom with his gearing and tires is sharper and more immediate.

@@charlieward7606 the pressure wave scavenging of the tuned can of the muffler is biased towards the low end of the torque range w the resonator insert installed and biased more towards mid range to top end w it removed

A bone stock KTM 450 SXF makes 58hp this 500 is only going to make 53 after all that work. What is the point, just buy a 450.

500 is a different bike. 6 gears, wide ratio, different suspension, street legal, stroker motor etc. They do different things.
