    Yeah - I've seen it on other desks too. A big heavy thing (slab of wood, multiple monitors etc), on top of a long arm (that's extendable), is a bit of an engineering problem. I don't really notice the wobble any more and it's not been a problem for me but I can see why it would be for some.

    Mine also wobbles as in this review. It is pretty annoying... I think the problem originates from the "stupid" C-type design.

    I see you set the mock purchase at the beginning to the 180cm desk. But is the desk you're using the 180cm as well? I'm contemplating whether the 180cm is too big. But if you're using this in the video, it just seems the right size

    The bamboo top is rock solid. I was ultra careful at first with hot drinks etc too but have been a bit lazy on that front recently - but it’s completely unblemished. Doesn’t feel soft in any way. I’m still careful with it for sure but doesn’t seem easy to dent or scratch for me.

    I'm currently looking into a standing desk to replace my IKEA Bekant desk! If you had to purchase another standing desk, would you go with the Fully or something different due to the wobbly with the large 49" screen you picked up? I saw quite a few alternatives such as the FRISKA Stockholm desk but unfortunately there's not much information outside of reviews on their website.

    hmm - interesting question. It's hard to know without trying. There's a fair bit of wobble. More than I'd like. What I'll do at some point in time is maybe change the top to something a lot more solid - like some worktop wood or something. But, most of the wobble comes from the legs and the rising mechanism. There's always going to be some play in them so hard to compare. Not sure I've helped!

    Great review, mate! I especially appreciate the stability test at the end. I would need to have it up to 122cm (48in) for my height, so if you say you've got it around mid height, I reckon that would be about a foot more for me... so I think that would give me very wobbly monitors and such! Do you find that it becomes quite unstable at its max height?

  • @lifeunlocked7206

    @lifeunlocked7206

    2 жыл бұрын

    I'd say that probably yes, depending on how much weight is on it. It's really when you lean on it that the wobble exaggerates. If all you did was type and move a mouse then you'd probably be ok but I have a tendency to lean on the desk when I'm stood up. I've gotten used to it and now don't really notice it but it's definitely there. The only probably is that I don't know what it would be like on any other rising desk - maybe it would be the same.

    @@lifeunlocked7206 Yeah, something tells me all desks at this price point have the same issue. I mean, this one is supposed to be the cream of the crop for these mid-range desks, and it still wobbles. The issue is that it has no crossbar; but that seems to be the way to go for all brands right now, as I can only find one that has a crossbar at this price point. This one at least has those wedges on the corners, so the U shape is a bit reinforced. I've only seen one other frame like that, from a company called Maidesite (but they don't have nice tops unfortunately). Anyway, at such heights I think the big issue is the column overlap. So I think I'll go for the Jarvis; being the tallest one I've found, I hope that by not having to push it all the way to its max height I'll get the most column overlap, ie the best stability. Still, it's a bit of a kick in the belly to spend so much for something that isn't perfect. My current desk (nice dinner table from Ikea) is quite wobbly if you get it going and it drives me insane. I hope the Jarvis is at the very least a bit less wobbly! Anyway, thanks again for your video and response! I was 90% convinced and it's given me steam to walk that extra 10%. Cheers!

    @@lifeunlocked7206 So in the end I went with the Jarvis as per your recommendations on this video 😋 It's the one that convinced me the most in terms of quality and reliability (the desk and the service). Should be here on Monday. And although I'm not looking forward to having to disassemble and reassemble my entire office (especially having to clean it!) I am excited about the new desk and potentially having a decent office now! I've also recently got back into mechanical keyboards and was wondering which one you're using here. It looks familiar, like it might be a Keychron older model, like the K2, but I can't quite recognise it. Anyway, cheers for all the help!

    I appreciate the response, but I was looking for the width of the sloped area at the edge of the desk. Difficult to communicate with just words. I ended up buying the desk anyways and now know that the slope is about 1.75 inches. I was mainly worried about the feet on my ergonomic keyboard hanging onto the slope and causing it to rest at an awkward angle. That's ended up not being the case.
