@Mohammed & deem gaming When you have PotatoDOS (Potato glados), and are going up a service elevator type thing, you're raised to this seemingly endless short roofed ceiling room that sort of looks like a parking lot to get to wheatley where you first encounter the franken turrets. I think that's the springs theyre talking about. Though I always thought they looked like stacked tires but springs make more sense

If you want to put your brain further in the blender, may I present 4D Miner? It's currently only a demo from a small experimental developer named Mashpoe on Steam, but it's being actively worked on and plans to have its first actual release in November. Mashpoe basically experiments with making games with mind-bending concepts, such as making a game that only existed in 1D (so the perspective of the character is only in 1D, lacking width [the second dimension] or depth [the third].) 4D Miner, on the other hand, is a lot like a Minecraft-type block-builder, except it is 4D, and due to the fact that we can't see the 4th dimension, the main mechanic of the game is the mouse wheel, which when scrolled allows the perspective in 3D to change. If your brain is already melting, don't worry, I can make it worse. Basically, the reason why the perspective works like that is because if we were put in the 4D plane, we'd only be able to see one "slice" at a time, one 3D version. It would be like a 2D character in a 3D world, who can only travel on one flat plane, which is actually an example Mashpoe uses as the tutorial. So, in order to live and survive in this hot mess you've found yourself in, what you'd need to do is essentially rotate yourself in the 4D space so you can see a new slice of the landscape, much like a 2D character could if they wanted to find a cave or a tree that was invisible to them. So rotating with the mouse wheel will reveal entire mountains, forests, pits, as well as invisible creatures that love to hide where you can't see them. This is the same reason why when people talk about 4D, they talk about shapes appearing and disappearing out of nowhere. If you don't want to sleep at night, it is actually possible in the physics of how dimensions work for a being in another dimension to reach through our slice of 3D and for us to see it, and it would look like a 3D version of what sticking a pencil through paper looks like. Feel free to play it and eat some edibles. At least until November, the full game as it stands is free as a demo on Steam. Science knows no bounds, and is trippy as shit.

Side effects include: soar throat, blurry vision, or DEATH. “If you have any of these symptoms do not hesitate to write them down”

@@AxtonKincaidILM I'm also going to add, the more simplistic approach seems to have been more-so a choice than a limitation, this mod feels heavily inspired by the original portal with the sense of making lot of gameplay out of a very limited range of mechanics (and with a minimal story) , and I honestly love the mod for that. It oozes with original portal vibes all the way down to the writing style.

Honestly it has the right amount of story for the content load. If it had as much story as portal 2, and this amount of content, it wouldn't really work. Honestly it was made with the assumption you know the portal backstory already, and by this point who doesn't

I am familiar with portal thinking, but that just blew my F***ing mind! it's just the edge of human brain capabilities! Thinking with space AND time is a whole new game concept And i love it!

It's more because of the unexperienced devs. When you create your own puzzles (not only in portal) you think it's easy because you know the solution but it's ridiculous to other people.

This is either really hard or I'm stupid. I have to constantly get hints from this video when I get stuck in the game 😂 "now let's move on to some more advanced challenges". Yeah previous test chamber was already quite advanced 🙈 Good mod though. Well done devs

Looking at your playthrough after I finished playing the mod I notice that several test chambers can be solved in different ways. Your way is more efficient though. In any case, one of the best Portal 2 mods I ever played. Mind bending puzzles, professional voice acting and great humor. Very much in the spirit of the original game.

For Chamber 9, I just stood on the box to get enough height to make the jump to the other side. It took a few tries. Then the robot voice said something about momentum through time portals and I knew I did it a different way than intended.

“This door is programmed to open in 20 years” Yeah, it'll break open in 20 years.

Some of these test chambers remind me of official ones I swear

The time portal is actually really fun to use

The intro ride with the human storage vault reminds me of that episode of Futurama where the planet express crew breaks into the vault controlled by robots to save Farnsworth and the ship they steal takes giant AA batteries.

@SuperMarioFan 3001 It's modeled after the Aperture Science Extended Relaxation Annex (the one at the end of Co-op Course 5), which is modeled after that part of the citadel.

The position of the laser cube in the past on the final level near the end is so confusing. I couldn't tell where you had it and mine wasn't there but I somehow salvaged it and passed. You went so damn fast!

And I thought portal 2 was hard. Now this is a concept that justs sense especially for portal. It still sucks that all those test subjects managed to died within a week.

The second half of this testing course is located below you. Unfortunately, no elevator can take you there, so you will have to take the stairs. (Two massive objects crash in from above, destroying the floor and opening a path) ...That works too.

I always wondered why no one bothered with all staff of Aperture dying by GLaDOS in the first game, like how come the government never been able to go down there and destroy GLaDOS? Well GLaDOS saying "them" in the Portal 1 boss fight, probably means combines right.... We can assume Portal 1 was taken after the Resonance Casscade and also after the 7 Hour War, but not much after that cause the facility still looking quite maintained and GLaDOS obviously still being alive and all at the beginning of Portal 1. So the reason why the government never bothered going down there is because they were occupied with the new Combine empire invasion and the zombies flooding to earth. Heres my question tho... GLaDOS killed all the scientists and staff in Aperture Science, but if this mod really takes time between Portal 1 and Portal 2, she never really knew about the test subject chambers going on? We know the test subjects were "liberated" after Portal 2 coop but not before that. So this mod potentially could take place much more after Portal 2 as well, question is where GLaDOS is during that time.

Imagine how stupidly funny flying through time portal looks like for the outside observere. It's like: YEEEEEEEEE- ... /20 years later/ ... -EEEEEEEEET!

For me, this is essentially Portal 0.6, taking place after Prelude and Cosmogony (if anyone thinks their stories match up well) but before the original Portal, due to the system mentioning a rouge test subject (foreshadowing Chell destroying GLaDOS). In a way, this makes the ending where the test subject escapes to the future canon to Portal, meaning Chell never confronts her at any time in the original trying to stop her.

This game becomes way too hard starting at chapter 12 and I had to use this walkthrough from then on. When I got to chapter 18 I gave up because it was too complicated. Very good walkthrough.

Looks so fun!

I found an "Easter egg" on chamber 13. If you shoot a portal next to the laser beam intake thingy it works and then there is dialogue saying you were not meant to complete this chamber this way but oh well

7:38 I never realized there was a designated spot to put the cube up there, I just put it on top of the corner at the top of the stairs.

i noticed something, at 16:47, when you pressed the button i saw that there was a missing texture block, i paused at the perfect time and saw it. looks like valve forgot to fix that.
