Many of his teammates/coaches called him the best when playing with him, but once outside - anyone who knows ball knows Messi is supremely gifted across 5-6 positions from deep lying playmaker to a goalscore, and there's no-one better in the last 15 years.

I have researched allot about this calendar year. The Reason is, While Messi Had a fantastic Season individually speaking, He was only Fantastic in La Liga. Whilst in Ucl, despite being the top goal scorer in Ucl, His only memorable performance was against Arsenal I think. Even in this match the man of the match was Xavi and not Messi. the rest of his goals were basically against small teams like Leverkusen. And in other big games like against Bayern and Inter in knockout rounds, he had many shots on targets, yet not scoring any goals against them. Almost ghosting in these matches. So in general, his Ucl performance was descent but overrated. And in World Cup,even though he is the 3rd player who created most chances, He had 23 shots on target yet did not score any goal, Just one assist. This performance is a poor one, especially for the caliber of player like Messi. He had a humiliating run, loosing to Germany 4-0. Individual and collective awards: Messi played a Major role for Barca to win La liga and Spanish Super Cup. He won; -La Liga -Spanish super Cup He won 8 major awards which are; -La Liga best player -La Liga best forward - La Liga top goal scorer -European golden boot -Ucl top goal scorer -Alfredo de Stifano award -Uefa UCL team of the season -Fifa pro 11 Over all, he was Fantastic. But the major problem he had was lack of consistency. Its clear in many of his big games, Especially in the World Cup.

case of Sneijder: Sneijder was the key player for Inter to win the Treble, in which almost nobody thought they will win the Ucl alone to begin with. Plus he just like Modric and Mbappe, carried Holland to World cup Finals. He had 13 goals and 19 assists in 40+ games he played (Due to an injury he had, he didnt play in that many games just like Iniesta) He was also from the top 5 people who created most chances in that year. He had G/A in many of the big games of WC and Ucl. His Achievements: -Ucl -Serie A title -Coppa Italia -Club World cup -World cup Finalist As for his Individual awards, he won 7 as I researched: -Uefa Club best Midfielder of the year - Ucl top assister - World cup Silver Ball -World cup bronze Boot - Fifa pro 11 -Uefa Ucl team of the season - World cup all star team keep in mind Sneijder was also not that consistent in 2010 callender year, due to the fact that in 2010/11 season, he played decent but not great. But over all, sneijder is the deserving winner

As a Messi fan and Ronaldo fans hater, the only award I felt Messi didn't deserved is the recent FIFA best award, that too is given based on votes. Messi is also helpless here,coz for odd reasons,, football captains, including one from Madrid itself voted for Messi,and the award is given to the most voted player(still Penaldogs calls the award rigged even though the voting stats are transparent). Haaland deserved it more than anyone else, Messi's voting itself was for Haaland

I disagree with you here. The latest ballandor proves that Iniesta was robbed in 2010 cause Haaland broke all sort of records in the premier league and won the champions league and top goal scorer in the premier league with record amount of goal. Messi had a terrible season with PSG and his only reprieve is that he had a good world cup and guided his team to win world cup. This means that world cup performance is placed above what you do at club level by the ballandors own metric (the people who vote) In 2010 world cup messie was useless, I think he had 1 assist and no goals and his team was hammered by Germany 4-0. Iniesta on the other hand had 2 goals and 3 assists in the tournament and was pivitol in that midfield along side xavi and they went on to win the cup. Based on what they did to Haaland, Iniesta should have won 2010

International football always carries more weight than club football, also Messi did not have a terrible season for PSG thats cap, he was the best player in Ligue 1 up until the World Cup. Its true Haaland scored more goals but this isn't the top goalscorer award its for the overall best player and that was Messi; for dominating the biggest tournament in the sport and a good club season in which he had some seriously clutch moments. Until Haaland does more than hang on the backline waiting for balls over the top he will struggle to win Ballon D'or, especially with Mbappe going to Madrid who is allround a far more talented player. Most Ballon D'or winners are not strikers.

Tbf, jose probably also knows that those games vs barca, there were some instances of offside inter goals being given as a goal, and goals for barca being disallowed for supposed hands even though there was no handball etc, probably helped his team to get through… so you win some you lose some. Also messi statistically was more involved, and outperformed sneijder in almost all categories, as he was in the top 3 of both attacking and midfielder stat categories, and has been for the last 15 years… which makes it hard to deny messi any of his ballon d’or on a statistical basis

it isnt that deep. Also, Sneijder was never a better footballer than Messi, not even in some parallel universe. Sneijder's teams won titles, but individually Messi was better. This is individual award, not "oh I have won treble".

Gotta thank coca-cola Pepsi lays adidas for giving him those trophies if you have a strong sponsors you'll win against someone who doesn't

He had 13 goals and 19 assists in 40+ games he played (Due to an injury he had, he didnt play in that many games just like Iniesta) He was also from the top 5 people who created most chances in that year. He had G/A in many of the big games of WC and Ucl. His Achievements: -Ucl -Serie A title -Coppa Italia -Club World cup -Italian Super Cup -World cup Finalist As for his Individual awards, he won 7 as I researched: -Uefa Club best Midfielder of the year - Ucl top assister - World cup Silver Ball -World cup bronze Boot - Fifa pro 11 -Uefa Ucl team of the season - World cup team of the tournament

You forgetting that same season he won his country the World Cup being the top goal scorer and assist provider? Won PSG Ligue 1 on the barest of margins - I still remember that decisive free kick against LOSC.

2010 Messi was a magical ! He has unstoppable that year and it needed Inter to stop him. He scored four against Arseanal. Scored wonder goals against Zaragoza and Valencia. He was electrifying. His goal tally was better than Ronaldo Nazario, a feat which was repeated by both Messi and Cristiano in the coming years and lost the value. Sneijder was probably 30 % of that version of Messi
