Seriously, she goes back to the psychopath instead of choosing the general who did everything for her? What is wrong with these script writers? No one would believably go back to someone who slaughtered their families and people infront of them, not to mention, tortured and humiliated them for years as well as allowing others to freely do so!

He unfortunately and unintentionally complicated things by subconsciously giving her his wife's face while saving her and treating her injuries. Not that that I'm saying she should have necessarily stayed with him and his jealous, murderous foster sister either. I'm just saying there is no way a reasonable person would have ever gone back to the ML.

It is very romantic

I would recommend watching this in its entirety and not letting the comments persuade you otherwise. SPOILER ALERT!!! Crown prince doesn’t actually kill her brother but since he’s already dead from the battle (their countries are at war with each other) he burns the bodies together instead of chopping them up into pieces like his commanding general wanted, which would be far more cruel, this was more dignified at least. He also had to be cruel and cold towards his wife to protect her from his general and his sister (side concubine) as their family was powerful and his own power not established in court. He had hoped that once has wife had child, it would solidify her own status in court however she took precautions to not conceive. I can go on about other misunderstandings between the two of them but I think overall this is worth watching ❤

I actually loved this series. It’s called Broken The Heart. It appears to be a cruel ML,but in fact he isn’t. Everything he does, is because he loves her and wants to keep her alive. While the general is lovely, he is still in love with his dead wife. That’s why he subconsciously gave her his wife’s face. It would be hard not knowing whether he loved you, or the face you have. He also didn’t kill her family. The brother died in war, and in fact he let the uncle go, and rescued her mother. The humiliation was done, because it amused the concubine, and that kept her alive.

So we are just going to forget how he forced her to witness almost that walking red flag make love to another girl in her palace and bed? Not to mention the killing of her brother. Killing of her drowny maids and all. Her life-long trauma? Moreover that human forced her to remove her clothes infront of an audience just to satisfy and comfort his so called mind that she may or may not be him. Like who does that?! What is wrong with the script writer, producer, and director? No one in right minds wants a red flag like that after all she had explained... god, that general is a zillion times better than this crown prince. Treated her right, lied to protect her from that inhumane so called husband. Anyone who says Crown Prince is better needs to see psychiatrists and psychologists. Even if the crown prince was forced, acting or hyping up his cards to protect her in his view NONE of it justify his actions and can never will in reality. Honesty is better than thinking you are protecting the significant other by doing such ridiculous inhumane and crazy actions. Point being this drama... 3 / 10. Princess you deserve so much better like the general than that piece of crown prince. Good riddance~

Exactly my thoughts. That should be her bottom line. An inmunane man who lets his woman watched by other men! Disgusting man. And the woman goes back to such disgusting and inhumane man. Really these days chinese dramas are getting worse showing only violence against women in different ways. It really affects my mental health. She is literally getting nightmares of him ! And this despicable man asks if she has forgiven him.He has no guilt. Even if this sort of man is dying in front of me and asking for forgiveness I will never ever forgive him. He is not the only man left in this world. If he was really willing to give up his title of crown prince why didn't he do that in the first place? Hurting and humiliating again and again in the name of protection. Fake love!

Only watch if you like toxic people and love.

I enjoyed this one. From start to finish it kept me engaged- even with the missing background sounds. Anyways for me it was realistic. She loved the man and he loved her, but the trauma between them was real and they both needed time apart to be healed. He learned from his mistakes and wasn't the same person anymore as for herself, she gave herself a chance to live without him. In the end if they can start over anew I am happy for them. I do feel bad for the other guy since he genuinely cared for her- however love cannot be forced and the fact that he gave her his dead wife's face shows that he isn't over his first love either. Anyways thanks for posting this one. I'll probably watch it again later the next time I am in the mood for a difficult love story.

Why do so many Chinese Dramas end with the abused voluntarily going back to the abuser? No wonder so many people take their own life when they feel there is no way out. These dramas should be more optimistic, encouraging and expressing hope for a better life.

Sometimes we have to use our intuition,feel the movie not just watch,he was never bad,pay attention,this is a beautiful drama,men have layers also,not only female and sometimes we can learn something,love is neverall roses and easter bunnies,justvdaying,their are trials and tribulations within love,take love on this planet with us humans,we bring down men so much,what about us as females,we can also be toxic,thats why talking and healing oneself is important

Many people have different views on this drama, so I'll tell you mine. This js a great drama about love and sacrifice, if the prince didn't humiliate her and act as if he hates her then she would've died on the day of the wedding, he never killed anyone she loved, her brother died in a battle caused by her father and nangong xi's brother. He never wanted war and he was protecting her by pretending to hate her and wanting her to suffer. Otherwise she would've died at the hands of the nangong family. Her father got her married to the enemy knowing that she wouldn't last a day. So she survived because of his love for her. So my advice to you is watch the drama and decide for yourself. Thank You😊

So about the nangong family. They helped the king build the south state and fight back against the yin state, therefore they gained control of the palace and all they wanted was death and war. When the king fell I'll, that was their time to shine, restarting the war between the south and yin, so basically the crown prince had no power and he was scheming, coming up with ways to get rid of the nangong family, that's why he couldn't mess with them before his power increased.

the ending makes sense. she choose neither of the men. all her life she has lived in fear for once now she is free of the bondage. a good ending

This was great, cast good, actors had good visuals and one of the few times the actresses had good visuals too. Different storyline and plot was handle with creativity. Fan of FL, when I first saw her in a drama with Zhao Lusi, she was stiff and her expressions weren’t done well, but now, I guess she has more experience, all her acting in the mini dramas has been excellent. Hope to see her more now and in the top dramas.

A most beautiful story. Ignore the “abuse” at the beginning. Ends well.

He was not sadistic, people, he had to pretend to be like that bc of the general who was controlling his state. He was pretending to like the general’s nasty sister and was trying to keep the one he truly loved alive - the only way he could. I understand his torment exactly.

Lol not only plastic surgery but really bad plastic surgery. I had a hard time watching the evil concubines scenes because I couldn't stop looking at the train wreck that was left of her nose.

May i know the title of the show?

I just can't wrap my head around what I watched. The storyline was so unpredictable that it became hard to follow. The ML's character was portrayed as a villain at first, but then it suddenly changed in the middle, which was confusing. The general was portrayed as a generous person, but he didn't get anyhting. The most confusing character was the FL - I couldn't understand her motives. When she was in the general's mansion, she cared for the ML, then in the palace, she cared for the general. After they won the war, she left without any explanation, and decided to wander for three years. But out of nowhere, they met again.

Saw another version of this drama. Didn't get to see the beginning thus Didn't understand why they couldn't get back together nicely. Now, seeing the beginning, the princess = idiot to get back together with the crown Prince.

Is this supposed to be love? Honestly I don't get this kind of love. Even tho i didn't grow up with a loving family or circumstances. It's easy for me to walk away as soon as someone treats me like that. This is so toxic. Its sad n not love. When u can't be honestly real to each other n yourself more importantly. It's time to let go. Not everything or one is forever. Right? Wtf.. makes happy af to be single rn.🥳 Maybe somebody can explain to me what this kind of love is? Is this what they call a twin-flame? Like seriously! Chinese dramas are getting worse. This humiliation and hurting in the name of protection is definitely not love. Being honest with each other was the best option to protect. These plots really disgust me. And the women supporting this kind of abuse and calling this love....would they say the same if their men treated them the same way? I belive never. Even if this kind of man is asking for forgiveness on his deathbed I will never be able to forgive him for sure. She is literally getting nightmares of him. He has tormented her to that level. When you love someone you can never see them in pain. And ordering her to strip in front of other men. Disgusting 🤮🤢 That should have been her bottom line!

Well ML didn't kill her brother or any family members the villen did that and you can see he just want them yo see he also hate her. He hurt her feelings but didn't abuse her . He have to pretend to hate her infront of other women. And he can discuss this thing with her but after marriage when she meet him her behaviour or words make him feel that she hates him that's why he doesn't show any feelings infront of her . He just want to save her .and the face change concept just a little too much because of that general love story with his wife.
