I am going to today (7-3-21) to look at 1985 Winnebago Chieftain 22 going to redo the RV. Yours looks great. Will be doing a solar system and redo the outside & inside. Thank you for your video nice work.

Im a poor boy and am purchasing a 86 winnabego cheiftan 22 for $2500.. been making payments and im down to 500 left.. then i plan on slowly modernizing the interior.. i work remodeling houses so i will do most work on it myself if not all.. i really love it.. it'll be my home, im tired of renting rooms and living with strangers.. and have always been attracted to the van life lifestyles..

I can only imagine how much the renovation cost in time and expense but it results in a very unique, customized beauty! Lonestar and Barf never lived so well!

That was a cool walkthrough. I love seeing old stuff restored. I might be dating myself, but for a second I thought that front tag was an old 96rock tag. Would of been a good fit for that ride.

Bought it's bigger brother (Elandan 37) brand new in 1987. Full-timed before full-timing was a social media "thing". Back then it was mostly retired people in semi-seasonal parks and youngish families actually "camping". The "nomad" movement (i.e., homeless vagabond movement) was decades away ;-) Was pretty cool back then: Not a lot of drunks or druggies or homeless populating campgrounds like today. This is way before Walmart and Cracker Barrel parking lots became infested with "campers" each night. . Good times!

Very surprised , it's awesome . Not loving the paint scheme. Still Plugging along "what's going on folks ,where am I ?"

Luckily the exterior is just a wrap. They cut and buffed the original exterior before applying... plugs!

Wouldn’t want my camper to be that noisy!

5 MPG , I am good , Easy to find something with fuel injection that gets almost 3 times as much gas mileage. So that ruins it for me.

... yep... plenty of cookie cutters RVs with zero personality out there that will get better fuel economy... but if you're worried about fuel you're missing the fun here.

A job well done. It’s absolutely fabulous and to think it may have ended up as scrap. It’s not only unique but I guess you have increased your investment substantially. One point I’d like to make is I didn’t see any fire extinguishers which is worrisome. Please do consider this 🧯 🔥 and possibly a smoke detector. Other than that it’s just perfect 👍
