This was really interesting. We really fancy a river cruise and the Rhine or Danube would be our first choice too. The food looks lovely. Brilliant to see they’re doing the all inclusive on these cruises too. Well done for winning on the quiz! It looks like a lovely boat and you’ve really whetted our appetites for a river cruise. Thanks guys. Yes they are a lot more expensive than ocean cruising but with economies of scale I can understand why. I think there are occasionally good deals last minute though. If I went on another I would book last minute now.

Good info guys. Very useful for those thinking of one specially with TUI( although the vessels are all very similar) I think people try comparing river to ocean cruising The only similarity is they float Done the Nile and going on the Danube Amadeus imperial soon with Great Railway Journeys as we are also having 3 days in Germany cities £2200 each standard premium class rail and hotels with all meals The Nile boat was vastly different from Danube.

Great video! I'm looking forward to our first river cruise on TUI Maya. We booked well in advance but if we were to do it again I'd certainly keep a watch on the price as i agree with you that the price does seem to decrease.

Thanks, Angela. Sometimes, you have to book in advance just to be sure you get the holiday you want. I enjoy the anticipation of some holidays, which you don't get with last-minute deals. Swings and roundabouts I guess. Thanks for watching.

We enjoyed the boat tour and the dining options looked wonderful. Would love to take a riverboat tour as they look so beautiful in the areas they tour. It is slightly more expensive though. See in your reply to Rachel and Wills though that there may be some last minute deals. We've done that before to some all inclusive packages down to the Caribbean. We would have a vacation set and know we were going somewhere nice, but just didn't know where. Never went wrong, but it took nerves of steel! Enjoyed getting to know more about the riverboat cruises. Thanks for the tour Lisa and Giles.

hi. good job on this video. thanks. a question for you though. i have been contemplating a river cruise on the Rhine in the fall season, but being from Florida , and used to warm weather, was wondering what your weather was like. i don't mind a little cool weather, but don't want cold. thanks

Thanks for watching. In September and October the weather can be cool but not too cold. This cruise was in October, and we had good weather. Have a look at our destination videos to see what people are wearing- although if you are used to Florida temperatures, bring a coat and sweater! Remember there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing! 😃👍 Thanks again for watching and commenting 👍

It's more expensive than ocean cruising but it is a very different experience. TUI was much better value than many of the other river cruise companies. Whatever you decide, we wish you happy travels 😀👍

Thanks for the comment. I will be releasing a vlog soon to give you some information on booking river cruises. Please check that out in a couple of weeks time. But in answer to your question I think it depends on the itinerary. If you are going to a load of places you would otherwise find difficult to access i would definitely recommend. However, if its purely for an experience on a boat I would suggest ocean cruising may be a better option giving you a wider range of choice on-board. Hope this helps. 🙏

No, not at the time of booking. However, because the cruise itinerary was changed we were given £400 in vouchers towards a future holiday.
