Have you booked a Marella cruise and wondering what the dress code will be? Is there a formal dress code on celebration evening? Join us on "Dress to Impress" night to see what people wear, what food is on offer and what the entertainment is like. Are most people in ball gowns and cocktail dresses or t-shirts and shorts? Don't worry - we will show you what people are wearing onboard in Jan 2024 so you can decide what to pack in your suitcase.

Enjoyed this vlog,thanks,I too thought the same about the food on dress to impress nights,nothing special.Infact I thought the standard of a lot of the food and drinks had gone down( we were on Discovery 2 last September)from our time before in 2019.

Thanks for watching. This was a disappointing night, but there were some better meals. We found the food was inconsistent but mainly fine. Happy travels 😀
Marella Discovery 2 was my 2nd ever cruise ship - so great to see you guys on there! I like the 'relaxed vibe' of formal night on Marella - no need to excuse people based on clothing. Also, you're SO close to 1k subscribers - congratulations!

Cheers Fraser. We prefer Discovery to Explorer but are happy on either. You are SO close to 10k! Looking forward to the celebrations when you get there. We are pleased we have got to where we are relatively quickly. Ambassador vlogs coming next for us. Where are you heading next after your American epic?

If we get it edited in time, next week will be the start of our Ambassador cruise review. We were surprised by it!
Thx again guys - Straight to the heart of one of the more controversial topics in the cruise community. Marella are fairly relaxed but you do see a reasonable number who make it a reason to dress up. Times they change and dress norms also change. Cruising and work in the city being two great examples of that. Cruise lines who insist old older style dress codes are attracting a loyal following because of it but you have to wonder about the long term financial viability of that approach. Traditions are great and will continue for as long as they remain relevant. Loving the Starsky and Hutch vibe though ! Cue the music !

I love reading some of the threads on dress codes. They are very polarised. When it comes down to it, what somebody else wears is never going to affect me or my enjoyment of a cruise! Cheers for watching and for your continued support 👍

To be fair, we feel lucky that we are in a position to cruise and go on these holidays. One dodgy meal won't spoil our enjoyment or temper our gratitude! Thanks very much for watching. 😀👍 Happy travels.
I think one of the best things about cruising is not having to cook so it would be a big disappointment if the food wasn't as good as expected. At least you don't have to clear away the dishes!!

The menu on Marella cruises on dress to impress etc, has always been very good, we only had one bad meal and that was the beef wellington , first cruises with Marella people dressed up more up more on captains night

On previous Marella cruises we found the formal night menus to be better than on this cruise. It was still edible though 😀 Thanks for watching 👍
You both appeared underwhelmed by the food offering on what should be an “elevated” event. Sorry to see that your coffee was like dishwater. Problem is, after a few Proseccos, they thought you’d ordered a cup of Calgon, not coffee 😅
