Unfortunately that’s the reality for a bunch of people. (Including myself) were doormats to put It bluntly, and we let the people we care about step all over us despite what it does to us because we love them to much to stand up for ourselves.

The truth "came out" because you caught Sarah and had evidence. Had you not been at the shopping mall and happen to see her, you wouldn't have had the evidence and even when Sarah "found it", it probably wouldn't have vindicated you because she would have lied and said you "hid it", further adding insult to injury. The dad should have done more proactive work to get to the bottom of this so this can be nipped in the bud. I don't see why the dad is going to couples counseling, because what Sarah did is beyond inexcusable and unforgivable. I don't why he would want to still be with her. The dad needs to get some self worth and self esteem because if she did that to your daughter, she will do that to you.

I don't know but to me the dad sounds weak. He heard something Sarah said and just ran with it. Then when the truth comes out, he still decide to work things out with the person who called his daughter a liar and made her look crazy.
