Sir, mere GATE me 500 marks hai. Aur 5k rank k around hai. NIT Delhi, Jalandhar, Jamshedpur me CS core me mtech mil jaega. Aur IIT Mandi me Mtech (R) AI and Robotics me mil rha hai. Mera goal Research aur academics me hi rehna hai . Placement nhi chahiye. Which option is better, please suggest. ?

Bro don't ever go for iit dhanbad. Iit dhanbad is damn shit. Even btech students at iit dhanbad can't get placed properly. Mtech scope at iit dhanbad is low and never ever join it. Iit gandhinagar is good for research purpose can't say much about it's placement@@NoBody-cx2uf

It is mandatory to return stipend money if you are leaving the course midway. Otherwise, college will not approve TC (which is necessary to take admission in new College). But if you are leaving it for Job, then there is no need to return money as T.C. is not required for that purpose. (But you can return money if you want to satisfy your ethical/moral responsibility)

There has been discussions around it and even protests from students in past to increase the stipend value, but yet its not materialised
