As someone unfamiliar with skateboarding, it took me a bit to realize that things like "feeble" and "disaster" were trick names and not the commentators criticizing their moves

Because skateboarding is the hardest *not-sport on the planet. Simply participating is worthy of praise. There are no rules in skateboarding, and it's not a game. It's simply an activity wherein you push yourself to improve. Not to dominate others, but your own past self. This is the spirit of skating.

Pro Skaters using pads and helmet are a good example for the young amateur skater who are afraid of beeing seen as uncool when they protect their bones…

At first, I was like I hate Olympic skateboarding for the point giving system, But, ended up loving every contestants and their performance.

I hate the judges not the points since that is how competitions work. The judges are people who don’t skate like this man said “She is riding fakie so she is riding backwards” it’s like we now and he got told that

The scoring was slightly iffy but they all supported each other and had such a great time :) I feel like the men’s skateboarding had overall higher and more generous scoring but they all did so well. Skateboarding is one of those few sports where the sportsmanship is high and everyone is rooting for everyone :)

i know basically nothing about skating but i really loved the events here. the vibes were so unique and everyone looked so cool. definitely feel that it should've been made into an olympic sport sooner

Skaters who start at a young age, commit to learning and stick with it through their teen years tend to be amazing skaters. My own theory is a combination of two things, muscle memory being built up over years for each trick as well as being smaller as a kid resulting in a lower centre of gravity making balancing easier, obviously it shifts as you grow but they've built up the confidence and muscle memory over those younger easier balancing years.
