Tried explaining this to my little brother. The current midsize are nearly the size of older full size, and can tow pretty much all the same stuff you'd tow with a full size. You don't get significant bullet proofing to transmission and suspension until HD lines.

If you have a family, the backseats of midsized trucks aren't nearly as roomy as full-sized ones. Especially if you're having to deal with car seats with the really little ones, it's a lot harder to deal with day-to-day. Not saying it's not possible, just less convenient. Speaking from a family who has owned both midsized (Tacoma) and full-sized (F-150, Tundra)

It's about supply and demand, and the HD trucks are just not moving. A three quarter ton truck can be a better buy if you plan on keeping it for a long time and equip it specifically for what you need. If you don't need a diesel, then don't spend the money, and if you don't need a 4x4, then don't spend the money. A 4 door short bed truck will do just about everything you need it to do as far as hauling the family around and going to the hardware store or moving. It's a practical work truck or commuter for the average person, and you can have basic or fully decked out depending on your needs. Again, don't spend the money on something you don't need, so if you're not going to pull a forty foot fifth wheel, then don't get the monster engine and keep it practical. A small block v8 will be plenty for what most people need and remember your not buying this for resale but for your usage so don't get a truck with leather and then climb in the cab with a screwdriver in your back pocket. This is transportation and a tool to get the job done, and if you need a load of firewood or gravel, then the newer 3/4 ton truck should handle it. The mistake guys make is they buy a half ton truck and then overload it, which beats the truck up, and then you had wished you had bought an HD in the first place.

Is a midsize more than enough for me and my daily needs! As you’re right, the full size segment is over saturated and over priced! They’re hardly anymore capable than a midsize. And a midsize seems plenty capable for a majority of people out there for their daily needs. However the price difference of $15k-$20k between a midsize and full-size is crazy!! Not worth it and not likely you’ll get your value out of that full-size! If you’re needs warrant over 10k pounds of towing capacity and a couple thousand pounds of payload, then opt into an HD! The cabs also massive and they come standard with at least a 6.5’ bed!… and the best part… they cost as much, if not less than that overpriced full-size! I was at a CDJR dealership this morning and saw a 2025 Ram 1500 Bighorn for just over $64k and a 2024 Ram 2500 Bighorn for just under $68k… which one is the bargain here!!?? Yup! And wow. Great Video! You would be right if manufacturers started to sell real mid-size work truck pickups with 2 doors with 7ft or 8ft beds without any luxury. Most real pickup owners needs work trucks, not 4 doors limo with a man's purse in the back. In UK Ford is selling Rangers Work Truck Access Cab with 8ft beds without any luxury convenience. Why we don't have these here in North America? Ford still a US Company, am I right?

90% of truck owners in the USA don't use them for work. They are family vehicles and status symbols

@@SamkoWorkShopexactly! And people will complain about not having those luxuries and room for their families. The vast majority wants the crew cab with all the bells and whistles, very few need a no frills base model truck, even the ones that actually use it as such.

@@SamkoWorkShop I didn't mean to cancel these high end pickup trucks, I was saying they should add the base WT in their lineup. They do it in other countries, why not in North America also?

My F150 cab is the same size of my old F350. F350. 2008. F150 2020. F350 6.4 power stroke. F150 3.5 Ecoboost. F350 5 foot bed. F150 6 1/2 foot bed. F350 no real lockers. F150 rear lockers. F350 King Ranch. F150 XLT. Why I went with the F150. They made parking garages and parking spots much smaller. My F150 is lower to the ground. Yet. Longer. Would I buy a HD. The price mint be $64,000 plus. It's the taxes. Last year. My taxes on my F150 finally got under the monthly payment. To expensive. I don't want another vehicle payment. To expensive. The payment. The taxes. The insurance. The technology in my F150. I only use 5% of it. Technology is pointless for myself in any type of vehicle. I own a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has an alarm and auto start. That's it. Not even a radio.
