I was just a boy when the first Star Wars came out. I had always been a sci-fi nut (Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, etc) but when this hit me, it hit hard. I can still remember leaving the theater and starring out the window of my dad's Country Squire station wagon (I always sat in the little fold out seat in the back) and my little mind trying to process what I had just seen. For that Christmas my parents got me a Star Wars book that was like an encyclopedia. It had all the drawings and cutaways and pictures and it had all the vehicles including the Death Star with all the races and maps of the Star Wars universe. It was the best present I had ever got. I would have flipped my lid at this mockup. Big time!

Star Wars fans are the most passionate and I feel, the wealthiest. I follow a few SW fans in social media and some of them even transform their houses into something that would fit in the SW universe. Some of them collect expensive figures in bulk so that they could army-build. So you could not really blame them if they are the most vocal out of all the fandoms out there. They’re the machine that never stops running and keeps the Star Wars franchise alive.

jake when it first was talked about, Disney hadn’t owned it yet. It was Lucas who sent the cease and desist letter. So.., *Lucasfilm not Disney, Lucasfilm.

Very well done sirs! All you really need now is to install a large projection-screen in front of the cockpit, then hook it up to a gaming system . Star Wars first-person space battles would be fantastic in this. You could charge admission!!

Disney & Lucasfilm build, film and dismantle these type of sets in months. I doubt they have the inclination to let three dudes ponder over how to build a lever for six months, then remake it just because ..
