FULL Season Winter Caribou Hunt | ALASKA 2023-2024
It all pays off in the end for our winter caribou hunting season here in Alaska. The journey took us through some of the state's rugged backcountry where we learned new terrain and witnessed incredible sights. We are thankful for the knowledge gained and the opportunity to harvest such a resilient animal that will provide us nutritious food for many months to come.
We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀
Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! 💙

Eric is so lucky to have this woman I mean she just does everything they are just a perfect match for Alaska I just love this podcast
Eric tying Arielle's hair back while she's elbow-deep in a caribou carcass is the perfect image of how they are the perfect couple. The way they share the work and lean on each other's strengths; how they support each other, and praise each other, and rely on each other is really quite touching.
Great video...thank you for sharing your real life experiences...no commercials: coffee, AG1, Drevos smoker, Lion Energy ....just Eric and Ariel. You guys get it. You are the best! The Hollars and Sow the Land share life as it happens as well...no commercials.

It has to be done if you want to eat them! It reminds me of going to India and seeing the women picking up fresh cow dung with it all the way up to their elbows forming round pies to slap on the side of the house to dry for cooking fuel later! That's what you have to do without wood, and electricity, and bottled gas! I saw they would stack them in a circle up and up forming a beehive looking mound and when it was tall enough covering that with mud to dry to protect the dung cakes from the rainy season. They would cut a small opening to retrieve however many they needed to cook a meal! Just imagine the women from the Western societies having to do this to make dinner!? I laughed as I thought they would send the kids out saying honey grab two cakes for dinner tonight!
Gotta keep that woman! The way she casually talked about her experience whilst casually waving caribou guts, precious!

Perfect description! Love how they work so well together!
This long season hunt has made me think how grateful we should be for the food we have. To watch what you go through to harvest that meat is something that modern people usually don't have to do and it puts me in awe of you guys!
You two make the best videos! The stories, photography, and your obvious love of your life and each other is absolutely beautiful♥
Arielle, you seem to have such an incredible, almost chidlike, joy with which you experience the world- it's so pure and honest; you live with your whole heart and it's so wonderful that we get to see these glimpses of you shining, like you just laughing at the birds taking flight! There aren't many people out there being their authentic self like that; thanks to both of you for letting us come along on your trips like this :D
Your videos are the best! I watch them twice. Once with my morning coffee then in the evening before bed. I love how you are living and loving your lives.

Loved every minute, paused at so many wonderful views, you make us all want to come on your adventures, even looked forward to the harvest of the caribou, Alaska is one place I have always wanted to visit, you feed my thirst, I am disabled and won't make it in this lifetime, but I hope we meet up in the next! Thank you both for sharing snippets of your life with us, we appreciate all the work that this takes. Love from Australia xxx
Arielle, I love how you stop to acknowledge the beauty in the details around you! Keep on keeping on!
That is the most beautiful scenery out there especially with the snow covered trees they were awesome but the scenic views were absolutely beautiful and the snow mobile rides were exciting all i can say is it is so very breathtakingly beautiful there and hunting the caribou for food was a learning experience as always another great video of Alaska Thanks Arielle and Eric take care.🇺🇲❄🤠❄🇺🇲

Thank you guys so much for letting us enjoy your adventure. Enjoy for as long as you can.
Well done! You are the epitome of good hunters: always careful and law-abiding, and you take down what you can eat, with respect and attention to nature and environment. SO impressive, always.
Congratulations on your first Caribou. What beautiful scenery with the snow covered trees. Blessings to you both. 😊🇺🇲
Felt sorry for the marten who was caught in the trap . Wish I hadn’t seen that. The other one that was dead looked bad also. Hope the trapper was checking his traps every 24 hours .
Another great video! Somebody is getting very good at capturing some spectacular views that show their love for the beauty of God's creations! I also enjoyed the compiling of several hunting excursions during the season, that showed that every hunt isn't successful, and that in hunting, perseverance is often needed. It also showed how quickly an uneventful hunt can turn into a success story! Way to stay with it, and I'm glad that Eric was able to connect with a solid shot on a nice caribou. I love the teamwork that you two have on getting things done, regardless if it's during hunting, cutting wood, cooking, or construction projects. You two work very well together, and that's one of the reasons I like your channel so well. God bless you two, and I'll be looking forward to your next video!
You got yourself a caribou, Eric and Ariel! Awesome Sauce! The scenery is beautiful. Hope you all and Bandit are doing well. Thanks for sharing this adventure!
Fun and beautiful video! Thanks for taking me along. Be safe. KC Don 😉
What a fantastic video. This is definitely my favorite channel
It’s obvious the care and time you took to film, produce and post this video. I know all of your viewers appreciate it. What a super experience, one most of us will never have! Congratulations!
So cute, Eric says, "Well he's in my spot so we have a problem"😅
We all had subsistance licenses back in the mid 70's and we got a big Caribou on the Alaskan Peninsula. Processed him over the fish hold on our seiner and split the meat between our boat and my skipper Paul Harder's Dad Ole's boat. Utterly fantastic meat!...even the liver was great!
What a video! Vsual whiplash!!!. Weeks of hunting compressed into less than an hour and then suddenly, Eric gets a Caribou. There were wolves sneaking around and tarmigan flying all over the place. Ariel having a chat while gutting. And trees that look like someone blew foam insulation all over the forest. .Hundreds of miles on the snow machines. loved it. I feel like an Urban Wimp now. Great editing job. Suzi
Thank you both for all you do so that your many viewers can get a taste of Alaska. Hunting and fishing trips are always exciting thanks to you both. Work on the homestead and cooking and the beautiful scenery footage just makes it all complete. You two are absolutely amazing.
Wow again! Picking up diner on the way back was fun to watch. Just can't get enough of your Alaska. Don't ever stop.

We really enjoy tagging along on your Alaskan adventures, WE LOVE IT AND love you guys Ariel and Eric . You guys make it seem so easy and so fun in the middle of the tundra . Hunting and fishing so much fun xo
I stopped watching this video when you came upon the live Marten still trapped in a steel trap. I wish you had never shown that part of your trip. It brought back terrible memories as a teenager when I trapped a red fox (alive) with the first and last trap I ever set. Needless to say I had to dispense with the fox. Afterwards I received $45 for the fur but I could never trap or hunt again. I guess if it came down to survival then I could still hunt and fish but since that morning so long ago I want no part of it. My wife and I have enjoyed watching your videos of your Alaska journey for several years but this is one video I will never finish.
Damn i feel sad for that Marten having to suffer in pain and agony and hunger in that trap for god knows how many days...how is it legal still ???

I generally like your videos but It was sad to see that Martin stuck in a trap. He seemed like he was in a lot of pain. Cruel, I had to stop watching.
Following you two since the beginning and was waiting for this day: first Caribou! The full season video really gave the sense of the journey and makes the ending more satisfying. Congrats to both of you. Now I cannot help but think I will make some Dutch oven elk stew this weekend. As a kid in Alaska caribou was always my favorite stew.🎉❤🎉
I really enjoy watching your adventures and to watch Arielle just dive in there and then bring up lunch afterwards is just 100% awesomeness. What a woman and you are a lucky man! Keep it up guys :)
Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us. Wow perseverance really does pay off. Enjoy the fruits of your hard work.

So happy you got a caribou!! You two are just so great to watch, team work. Beautiful scenery, great content, love when a new video comes up.
Congrats Guys! Before you know it, it will be gardening and fishing season! I started planting, yesterday. It's going to be a blessed year. 😊
You guys are a joy to watch and follow. You are living my hearts dream. You guys are so intelligent and inspiring.Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Can't wait for the Caribou processing video, the animal processing... Process, is some of my favorite content yall do. Its also something I love when I go hunt, it's tedious and a long day(esp when it's multiple animals) but it's probably the most rewarding part of hunting when you see all of the meat and other by products packaged/canned in your freezer/pantry.
I like how you grouped the hunts together and made a long video. So excited about your caribou, congratulations and great job. So proud of you guys always succeeding at these things after persevering and so fun to watch!
We laughed when Arial said lunchtime. Congrats on your caribou and meat for the freezer!! Sooooo enjoying those amazing view and beautiful photography!!
Great video! Congratulations on the caribou and the ptarmigans. Y'all are super awesome folks. I appreciate you letting me watch y'all's life there.
Some years back I read that caribou or reindeer (european name) travel in a very particular way. Firstly they always follow a trail but they travel in separate groups. Females or does always go first in a large group and then the bachelors males follow some days later in another group. So it makes sense you didn’t see any bucks with the does and that you found two males along the same trail after the does had passed through! Exciting stuff!
Awesome hunt! Congratulations. So good to see Bandit, he looked so cozy and warm tucked into his blanket. Eric the rule should be whoever gets the spot first gets to keep it and I'm positive Bandit agrees with me. 😅
I love Ariel “It tastes like cat food” but she kept eating. Love your show.

I love that you keep it real! Multiple trips without shooting a caribou. I hate when ppl make it look totally easy and that every hunt is successful. You work hard for your food! Great filming as usual! TYFS❤️
I shot my first Caribou off the Taylor Highway just to the side of Mount Fairplay. I sure love that part of Alaska! A very good friend of mine owns a really nice cabin in Eagle, AK. It's always fun to drive up there in the summer and hang out along the Yukon River! I have also done the "Trek Over the Top" snowmachine rally riding from Tok, AK to Dawson, Yukon Territory. That was a hoot!! -40 the whole trip.
