Thank you for the excellent comparison. I have never seen the spectrum or chameleon reinkers but they are on a lot of websites available to order, which is good because I need to refill my markers.

For the Spectrum Noir, putsome color on Yupo and cut out a circle and glue to top of cap ang hot glue a ridge vertically on 2 sides to stop rolling ang give better grip. For the bottles with white lids put the ink color on them and the black glue some yupo or something and ink it.I think hot glue would hold the color and stripe sides for grip, non rolling and color.. A larger syringe for more work flow.

l love adirondack ranger and pinata best but thinking of trying the zig. Thanks for the great video

Serena, thanks for such a great educating video for newbies like myself. Question: My Pinata Blanco Blanco, no matter how much I shake the bottle, will not mix with 99.9% alcohol nor with other inks. I tried mixing in a small container, but it has a chalky, bitty stuff in it. When I try to blow it with an airbrush, it won't move. What can I do? I really want to add white to my flowers or lighten certain colours. Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem. It doesn’t mix well and the outcome is a sand like chalky spot. I was told they do not mix with isopropyl but can be used withe color blender. I gave up on it.

@Judith Wilson thank you for your comments! The Blanco is known to get chalky if you add anything other than Blending Solution - isopropyl alcohol makes it get chunky. There's no way around this that I know of, so I just accept this as a property of the product and incorporate it into my art.

Michael's is carrying pinata excited pack now can use coupon!!!! You would stain caps the same just harder to see on black. Brea reese has very pretty colors harder to store some will not fit in ranger tins either. And maribu now has a rainbow additive! Very pretty. There is also another brand ?Kerry? Myriam does you tubes on which have special extenders etc

Thank you, this was very helpful, but from the title, I expected a review of the inks. I still wonder about the quality of the inks. Also, you can find, Pixiss and several other brands are available on Amazon.

Thank you for your comments @Peter Plantec. Unfortunately it is very difficult to ascertain quality of Alcohol Inks without doing a lightfastness test, which takes months to years.

Is there a substitution chart for Piñata vs. Ranger ink? I don't want to buy 2 different brands of essentially the same color.

@Little Feather I use Hydrus and it's wonderful, but India and Bombay Inks are water-soluble, whereas Alcohol Inks are not. If you look at my very first video, "What Is Alcohol Ink" you'll see the difference explained in detail. That said, you can use them together, it simply takes some practice.

Hydrus is a liquid watercolour, as far as I know it’s not even technically an ink :) I wish that line had alcohol inks, they have slightly better prices, typically

None! Alcohol Inks are dyes, not pigments. I think you're asking which is the most "intense" in terms of color - if so I'd have to say Pinata so far.

Have you ever used Kielty inks? They’re claimed to be non-toxic.

Are you familiar with Malibu Alcohol inks. And grafix paper.

@Bam Mcguee Bombay Inks and India Inks (as well as Acrylic Inks) are different from Alcohol Inks as they are reactive to water. You can still use them alongside Alcohol Ink projects, and I often do :)
