5th Quad inn29 years at my Land Surveying business and the Yamaha’s have taken a beating and keep on ticking. We just bought the Power Steering version of this model and we all love it! It has some poop and the suspension is nice. We have added baskets to the racks to carry chainsaws, survey gear, and multiple crew members. My only problem is finding it in the woods as we got the Real Tree camo lol! I was dissipointed with the Blue Ox we had( Arctic Crap 500) it has had some issues but the old beat up Yammies keep on digging!

I just picked up a Brand New 2015 Yamaha Grizzly 700 SE from my dealership and would love to see a video showing us how to update the 2014-2015 models to 2019 standard. Thanks and keep up the great work. Your videos are top notch.

I currently have a 2020 grizzly 700 and trade my grizzly off every year for a new one I ride Colorado high country trails and usually put around 2500 miles on them but it's in narly rocky tough terrain and I'm a aggressive trail rider and have rode for 40 years and I have never had any of my Grizzlies go down on me, Yamaha is the most reliable quad I have ever owned and rode, I'm die hard Yamaha

i got a 2018 got 3600 hard ridden Kilometers never had to replace a thing except oil etc

My 450 is Better than any PEElaris or JUNKam😄well except for the Honda. It was a difficult decision, but my family not wanting to Shift made it for me.😒

Owned Yamaha,Polaris, and now Kawasaki! Kawasaki is the bike to have for price and what u get it cant be beat!

A good review, well done. Great looking bike.... Same tire as the AC Mud pros have used for years, similar power..... but not truly mud ready, not the nasty deep stuff anyway.

Nice machine. And just like that, I'm now leaning away from Polaris & looking to this Yamaha.

I would get one ASAP if it was a twin, I just want it to have that Vtwin rumble with an aftermarket exhaust.

There still doing single cylinder. Dang I been riding 2 cylinders since my 07 renegade 800. Still got it with 7k miles in it still runs like I just bought it. Everything stock only things I have done since I have purchased it is a new oil filter a new battery and belts that’s it!

WOW!! I like a lot. Makes it hard to NOT go out and buy one. LOL!! But, if I were in the market, then I'd seriously be taking a closer look. Enjoyed the video...and the wheeling riding!!

biz4two biz4 They look phenomenal in person. I went to the dealership for a part and almost left with the Grizzly.

What was the brown mark on the decal in the side. I saw one at the dealership that had 70 miles on it that had a brown Mark like that and wondering if the engines getting hot and ruining the decal

Man thats a sharp looking quad....I bought a 660 grizz back in 2000 and i loved it.... for a big bore it felt very sporty... but, as luck would have it my quad burned right down to the frame on a dusty, hot dry day out in the middle of BFE (long story, not really the fault of yamaha, lets just say perfect storm situation). So, i decided to try Polaris... and i fell in love with the AWD system, no stopping holding a button to lock in the front diff, no fluid pressure needed, just 3/4 of a turn in the back and you're in.... Polaris AWD is the best imo, but i do miss the sporty feel of the grizzly. Put hillard clutches in the front... i would probably switch... lol

This new Yamaha seems like it is going to be a great machine. I agree with others in that it would be nice to see a 1000. I think it would be able to compete with Polaris and Can Am then..especially if they could keep its reliability!

Yamaha is more reliable and a better built machine I rather a grizzly 700 than a can am 1000 any day

May put 27 x 10s zillas on my new brute Force 750. will I be able to ride as fast as I do on my 25 inch grim reapers on Eastern Rocky trails?

If Yamaha came up with V-Twin i know i would buy one. That is the only thing keeping a few of us from buying.

carlos valencia plenty around here with 20,000 km and still run like new. They’re just ugly as hell. Can Ams tend to be overpriced and break down more than they should. And if you ever have to deal with BRP directly, good luck lol

@@gsfbffxpdhhdf7043 Dude you're dreaming. I had a Sportsman 850 and it would bury the needle and its registered for 120 km/h (75 mph). A buddy of mine with a Brute Force 750 couldn't break 110 km/h (65 mph). His machine was in the shop as much as my Sportsman was. The Sportsman handled better, looked better, had more clearance, towed more, and was a better machine all around.

I bought a 2020 outlander max xt 650, I'm happy with it but I was also really into these yamaha grizzly 700 but unfortunately since Yamaha refuse to offer 2 up models I went with Can Am.

@GastonGross I had a old yamaha model so moving to a 500 was an upgrade man! I bought it purely on reliability because I'm working away from home for 3 months or so at a time and want something that guaranteed to fire up when I hit the start button. yamaha ATVs are alot harder to get 2nd hand in the UK as its mostly Honda that are sold here, yamaha raptors are pretty easy to get though. Give it two years and I'll have a grizzly 700 bro, what model you got?

I wish I had this but its probably super expensive or not available in my country

I've got a 2006 Yamaha grizzly and let's just say it's never failed

I have a 2019 kodiak and the 686cc engine is peppy as hell. It’s still in the break in so I haven’t got over 3/4 throttle but definitely a strong motor. Feels stronger than my brother’s 2018 with the 708cc engine.

Very curious about this as well I had a 16 grizzly that I recently traded off, the low end take off power was very disappointing! Didn't turn well either, seemed like you had a bunch of weight on the back rack.

whats the diference betwen the 686 and 708 , why they changed from 708 to 686cc ?

Well I personally love the look of this 4 wheeler and I might go buy it. I know everyone wants to see yamaha and honda put out a v-twin but I can wait. I personally love reliability and not just straight horse power. I mean this when I say it, every single can am or polaris I have ridden with has broke down more times then I can count, yet I still ride my 20 year old honda foreman 450 with a lift kit and 27 ITP Mega Mayhems and never broke down, EVER!! Don't get me wrong when Can Am's and Polaris's are running good I can't compete at all but that is only when they are running good, on the flip side mine always runs good..just comes down to choice.

Just adding my own thought on this. when they do come out with a V-twin I have a feeling the price will be really high, because these companies live off of reliability and don't want to ruin that..but when it comes it will be the best V-twins out there.

Me too, I have been riding a Suzuki 400 Eiger since 2005, I literally beat the hell out of it. I trial ride, hunt, fish and have had it underwater 3x, once yesterday. The damned thing wont quit, same belt just about everything except tires, lights and about 15 oil changes. It's not the overall power I want, it's the dependability and ability to take me where I need to go with my gear. I'm 6'3, 245 and I know I tax that 400 but it's been loyal and dependable and I think the 700 Grizzly is the best step up until we get that 850 everyone talks about stuffed in there.

Yamaha is back in the quad game

Yamaha advertosed a 6% gear reduction on this model. Great machine!

love my 2017 grizzly but its time yamaha to make a bigger badder more powerful model. Hopefully 2020 we will see a twin cylinder.

Nice but I like the muscles on Can Am ATV . Last month I received the MAX XTP 1000 it’s beast and looking Awesome 👌🏽🔥Buy still not satisfied me with power we need 150 HP

By far the best looking. Grizzly ever made. It isn’t even close. Although it feels like a 400 compared to the outty and sportsman 850/1000 it does what it is suppose to better then all. Hunting, Long rides, and best of all reliability.

The general consensus is, Yamaha put a big twin in it! Parallel or V doesn't matter. You will sell tons if they prove as reliable as any other grizzly.

Is that 300 pounds front rack and back rack?

Had a yamaha banshee for years, loved it, bought a polaris sportsman...never again. Just bought a grizzly 700. Haven't rode it yet.

id say depending on what you intend to use it for, grizzly's really are tough durable machine and are easy to maintain, but they do lack in overall horse power being a single cylinder, although you can do a pretty decent mudder build on a grizzly that will get you through moderate mud wholes, i wouldnt consider anyhting less then 800 cc if your considering a can am.

@@untitledC64 just curious why you would not buy the 650 I ask because it's a huge purchase I don't want to make an error I have heard the 850 and 1000 are very hot to ride and melt plastics and drink fuel the 650 seemed to be a beast ?? No ?? I have no plans to go bigger than 27 inch tires

hey Dirt Trax, hard working American here in Minnesota. I am currently getting ready to buy a 18,19, or 20 model year atv. I have been teetering the fence as far as a decision on the grizzly 700, sportsman 850, or outlander 850. I love the extra power that the big twin cylinders offer but I am worried about the cost of repairs on the big twins and I am almost willing to sacrifice that power if the reliability on the grizzly is far superior opposed to the reliability that I have been reading up on the 850. I am a diesel technician by trade and I know anything with moving parts are liable to break. I know you gentleman have lots of experience and are open minded when it comes to atvs as well as have seat and operating time on both of them. can you tell me, after beating down these machines which seemed to needed to be worked on the least, not maintenance wise more so snapping axles, diff failures, bearings, and my least favorite electrical components. nothing worse than common issues, or driving 4 or 5 hours to get to new trails and breaking down for the weekend. Really looking forward to the input.

What an awesome problem to have, right?! All three of these ATVs are outstanding, but you clearly have significantly different levels of power here to take into consideration. Furthermore, out of these three, the Yamaha does have the best reputation for reliability and is an excellent ATV itself. Talk to your dealers before buying and make sure if a problem does arise post-purchase they'll provide you with the level of service you expect. If I was going to roll the dice here and power wasn't a deciding factor, I would choose the ATV with the best reputation for reliability. Good luck.

Bring back the Banshee or an updated version of it. The sport quad segment is dying.

Yamaha needs to make a mud racing atv to bring down the can am XMR and the Polaris high lifter if Yamaha would come out with a mud. Racing four wheeler then I would start mudding but sticking with my raptor for now

I like the new grizzlys but the only thing I don’t like is the bumber it looks kinda cheap and for some reason I like the older models I currently have a 2008 Yamaha grizzly 700 and would love to upgrade but I don’t have the money and I also have gotten used to my atv and trust it

Does anyone know why they went back to the 686cc engine, over the 708?

not sure the exact reasons but the 708 has issues. valve seals burn up and they burn alittle oil.

What I do know is if you do have a 1000cc bike you paid 5 grand more than I did and you'll be paying more in repair bills than I will. Spank that!

I just bought this exact model about a month ago, it's the first quad that I've ever owned. Though I do wish that it had an 850 in it. Everything that I've ever read when comparing brands, you can't beat Yamaha's reliability. I read about a lot of problems with Polaris' electrical systems and CanAm's mechanical problems. Ultimately I had to ask myself, how much power do I really need?

@@MrIdasam you bought the right unit. I currently own a 550xp Polaris and always wanted one. The power is good the ride is smooth but every few rides there's something to fix. Output shaft seal, codes, tmap sensor now at 5k bearings are sloppy. I love the machine but the maintenance is annoying.

Mud ready? Well not really. Without a rad relocation to up top, your real mud runs will leave your brand new 2019 with plugged rad and overheats! Cool 4x4 thought!

You probably don't ride in the types of conditions that require the large displacement engines do, well I know you don't because it's not possible and you know it's not if you have watched the big mud machines which I am sure you have. I don't really care much about this stuff anymore personally, but I check in time to time, and as far as a great ATV, you're 100% correct, the Rubicon is probably the best all around along with most durable ATV ever built besides the Honda 300TX 4×4, same engine as the 300EX. MY DAD still has his Rubicon from 01 or something, it's the 1st year Honda released them, it's never even hiccuped, it's been submerged, have to go clean it out, Change the oil, etc, brakes, Bearings, spark plugs, air filters and batteries, everyone unfortunately has to do maintenance or none will last unless they are for decoration. The only thing he had to add that didn't come originally was 4×4-4×2 option

why did Yamaha discontinue the 7:08 and go back to the 686?

Breaking things I'd assume, since they've never changed any drive train components, the 700+ was breaking stuff that they couldn't fix with heavier duty parts so back to a smaller displacement engine.

Jeremy Lawler Yeah, stock with Yamaha, the reason they aren’t making the engine bigger is probably because when they tried last time aka the 708cc, they had lots of trouble, so they might be a bit nervous about it, or they are taking their time on designing a new reliable, or they might use the wolverine engine.

staying with the single cyl is great, Kawasakis two cyl are a joke on the buyer but a blessing for the shop. Whatever possesed them to use a V Twin is beyond me, total junk but they pay my bills lol
