The symbolism and irony behind each death is just mindblowing. - Lust gets burned to death by the flames of a former womanizer trying to protect and regain the woman he truly loved.- Gluttony gets eaten by pride, showing fear and despair.- Envy comits suicide because he is jealous of humans and their emotions and bonds- Sloth dies by overexhausting himself- Wrath dies a peaceful death with a gentle smile and being content with his life after getting mortally wounded by a former rageful man who overcame his rage and lust for revenge- Pride ultimately becomes what he looked down and hated so much after getting desparate and trying to take a human as a vessel, getting beaten by Kimbly who kept his pride, and Edward who overcame his pride- Greed sacrificed himself after realizing he had everything he could ever wish for, dieing a selfless death with a content smile.- Father got betrayed by one of his sons and ultimately died the way he was born, little, weak and alone. His gate of truth was completely empty, symbolising he never archieved anything on his own and grew beyond his initial self. Gosh this series is a fucking masterpiece.

Also Lust's last words "Those eyes, looking straight ahead unwavering. I can't wait. The day when those eyes will be twisted in agony." then turns out he lost his sight as payment.

- Envy killed himself out of *jealousy towards humanity* - Lust was *burned on fire* to her last breath - Sloth was *immobile* when he was dying - Pride was *humbled* by Edward Elric - Greed felt *enough* in his last moment - Gluttony got *eaten* to his demise - Wrath died *peacefully* after fighting tremendously

I like how Lust commented on Mustang's eyes, and the day they'll be twisted in agony, and Mustang ended up losing his eyes at the end of the series

Because he was forced to open the gate and he had to loose a precious thing in the exchange so he lost his vision which was what made his attack on the point

I love the little touch of destiny that ultimately help scar defeat wrath, implying that there is something beyond our understanding. Seriously, FMAB handle the whole religion vs science so perfectly, hell they even made it into religion and science two sides of the same coin.

The Bible even teaches and encourages for humanity to explore and learn about the universe they live in and be rewarded by finding fingerprints of their creator in everything they observe. Now whether you believe that or beleive that religion even has a place in science and to what extent is something everyone has to, and should have the right to be able to, decide for themselves. This is why nuanced and deep exploration of the idea in media is important. Media becomes art when it makes people think about things, gives them new perspectives and lets them draw their own conclusions. Analysing art is actually pretty similar to exploring a faith or studying a science in that regard.

Envy made me cry a little

I forget how badass this anime was. This is the only anime that make my father stop and watched it

All the deaths were very symbolic, and ironic at the same time.

キンブリーはハガレンで一番のヴィランだと思う。 最後に背中向けて消えていくのカッコ良過ぎる。 やっぱり悪役が魅力的過ぎる作品は名作が多い。

神といえど、お父様といえど、結局は彼もまた全てを知ろうとする“人間”であったということだ。 ホムンクルスの性格、お父様の性格、それらも含めて“人間”！それを忘れちゃいけない。

*spoilers ahead* List of the saddest deaths of the the homunculi: 1-Greed 2-Envy (idk i kinda felt bad for him when he was very weak and he looked like a cute slug). 3-Wrath. Dies in a peaceful way despite being created as an emotion that supposed to symbolize war and rage. 4- Gluttony. Gluttony dies in a gruesome way when he gets devoured. (Ironic as he gets devoured) also because he acted like a baby and had a soft spot-ish 5- Sloth: he was always ordered around and did not like his orders because they were “such a drag”. Boring one but it was a bit sad. 6-Pride- prides death wasnt “sad” as he becomes a normal ish human who grows up . Also the kimblee attack was epic. 7- lust. Lust is a bitch. She destroyed havocs leg. “Ik he gets them back whit a philosophers stone” but that was still rude and technically she was the one who found out about hughes and made envy kill hughes.

Mustang being an absolute beast.

Gluttony: Got eaten by his own kind Greed: Sacrificing himself Lust: got barbecued by a well known serial womaniser Sloth: Overexerting himself to die Pride: killed by a prideful individual and those who overcome his own pride, plus he doesn't really die, he just down leveled into human level Wrath: died peacefully at the hand of an angry warrior priest Envy: commites suicide after got pitied by those who he envy Yeah, Arakawa sure read a lot about Dante

Damn this reminded me how great this anime was

King Bradeley is simply tthe best even while dying

Even though they were evil (greed was not evil) there deaths were sad

キンブリーは自分が知る中でトップクラスに魅力のある悪役です。 ガチの狂人でありながら最後まで一本筋が通っていて、信念を持つ人を敵味方問わず一目置く。

Neither Lan Fan nor Scar killed him to avenge what he took, as he died peacefully Pride/Selim was reborn due to being too arrogant and seeing himself as above humans but gladly hijacking Ed, humbled by another he absorbed The Second Greed finally had his fill and made the sacrificial play Father, someone whose knowledge was taken from elsewhere, finally learned something (I say this as while we rarely see him, everything he has is an amalgamation of stolen knowledge; Pride absorbs people like Truth taking people, Gluttony is a failed Portal, a giant eye right over the Stone leading to an endless void, Envy is able to easily rebuild their body on command between their ‘real’ form and a more humanoid form like how Father quickly a form after absorbing the souls centuries ago) Finally Hohenheim, was able to finally save someone close to him or his family after losing so many and had Edward recognize him

For me, actually King Bradley attack was the most fierce among all homunculus, he also very quick and agile. Other than his part that served as connections between humans, which is made him more dangerous character.
