I am sure you didn't watch it live.
Ma Long played an excellent fast game. He knew that he had to use all his skills, variety of strokes and placements to keep the pressure on his opponent and it worked. I have not seen him paly that well in some time. Maye it is the young fast opponenet that brings the best in him.
It’s very easy for his opponents to overcome ML. They just have to wait for his retiring.

At the age of 36, MA Long is still the best of the best! It is artistry when he plays! His passion came out during this game. When he's on, he dictates!
Amazing match between to very offensive and aggressive players. Loved that.
Other than competing against Wang Chuqin, Ma Long still resembles that Dragon from a long time ago.

This match started around 11pm KST, but there shouldn't be a worse slot for Ma Long, considering he finished earlier than some other players the day before yesterday?

Even I have to admit Ma Long has one of the most beautiful smashes in the world. I would rate his slightly better than Xu Xin.
If you wonder why people (like me) stop watching after a few seconds, it's the angle.
Amateur question but I see it so often so I have to ask. Why do the players go touch the table by the net with their hand after points? I’ve heard people say to wipe sweat, but Ma Long did it after the very first point in the match, before he was even sweating. I’m curious

In that case it's a mental thing. Clear your head, calm your mind, analyze the opponent and think about what your game plan is. Plan your next serve. It just gives more time to think. Also, if you are holding your bat correctly, you will accumulate sweet even after just a few strokes.

Many pauses from Ma - tired, there is no pressure on BH, there is no stability on BH. This game looks robust, but someone with more stable BH can change this easily.

It´s smart to take brakes when the umpire allows it, for me he looked stable and fast.
People tend to overrate WCQ. I personally feel WCQ is still far behind a prime Ma Long. That's how far TT has fallen off in the current era.

@@sherryz22 i prefer just behind the player (coach vision)...i think this angle is better to show real speed and spin (footworks too)it s more attractive for people who wants to discover table tennis

Lim is too weak in general. His open up is too spinny, without enough pace, and his counter is too slow, his loops are slow, his backhand block is too slow. Everything is just a bit too slow compared to the Chinese, like he is scared to go full power.

Chinese coach's clapping should be illegal. It is annoying as hell.
Ma Long has to improve his backhand if he wants to be the dictator again

His current backhand is the best form of his career. He won lots of points just blocking from backhand. Nothing wrong about that.
