This was hard to watch, Chen and Hina are my two favorite players, can't root against either. If I'm not mistaken this is Hina's first time beating Chen? I saw this coming, Hina is only improving!

All players are excellent, Love Japanese more because they are always smiling and enjoying the game.

Hina got lucky with that last point. But after CM's, ahem, long, Novak Djokovic style fashion or comfort break in their last match it didn't feel like a great injustice. After the first set there wasn't much between them, and it was an absorbing battle between Hayata's slight superiority in the long topspin rallies and CM's clearer edge on service and return. I hope it's not Hina's first and last victory, but I can see CM is still a formidable player.

Chen Meng proved herself only in less than two hours after losing to Hina though. She won the decisive point for China later.
