Loving the bragging about the savings instead of how expensive everything was.
We Love a Vitorian property! Our first was my husband's grandparents 3-bedTerraced home. Needed a full refurb. Loved it. Cheap as chips back in tbe day. All we could afford. My husband was actually born in the bedroom our baby son went into 💕 Then bought a big 5-bed Victorian Detached property. Lived there for 22yrs. The room sizes and ceiling heights...the deep skirting boards and cornices...the fireplaces...staircase and build-in's....absolutely wonderful. Moved out of London 7yrs ago into a 1980s 4-bed Detached....zero comparison. Victorian Builders: artisans. Talk about knew how to build to last. And both those homes were far warner than this bleedin' freezer-of a house! Sadly, a bungalow will probably be our next move...or a bleedin' caravan if we don't survive this cost of living crisis! Victorian/Edwardian V Newer Builds = Absolutely no contest for me. Oldies but Goodies make wonderful family homes🏠 💖
I'm currently waiting for planning approval for a loft conversion on my 2 bed flat in Tunbridge Wells. But at 84 years old I will have to employ tradesmen to do the conversion.but I will project manage the work so, some useful tips gained from your video.
You guys have done an incredible job wow so much attention to detail. Your entrepreneurial spirit just oozes you guys are really going places , fantadtic to see 😊
Love it all apart from the spotlights. I hate spotlights- even on a modern building. Apart from that, excellent job x
I’ve nothing but high praise for you young man❗️I’ve lived in London during the huge renovation of seventy billions of homes…yes..huge work and enormous costs. Congrats❗️
😊😊😊 WOW! You've done such quality work. I'm so impressed by your vision, skills and honestly, bravery. 😊 This home has turned into something so beautiful ❤️
Great job. Loved that you just call things 'chandelier thingy' and concentrate more on practical solutions - kudos to you guys for getting that done whilst working full-time. Looking forward to the rest of the videos. Enjoy it. You deserve it.
corbel. what a fantastic renovation! One thing I noticed on the flooring and really appreciate, is that where you have a step you've used a longer board across, so it differentiates where that step is. Great safety factor if your eyes kinda play tricks. This is the nicest renovation I've seen in a long time. spectacular, esp. when what I'm used to seeing on British renovations are things piece meal, really bad choices of flowery wallpaper, etc. You have 'knocked it out of the park!
I love period properties and this is a beautiful renovation. I have done a similar renovation and have a similar strategy to sourcing materials to keep costs down. I used the same coving. Watched a few how to videos as my uncle and his friend, who help me out couldn’t get the hang of it. Once I mastered it, EVERY room got coved. It’s polyurethane not polystyrene btw.
Great ideas and workmanship can’t wait to see the rest! We did something similar 40 years ago to an old house and that was major work and working day jobs, exhausting! But house no. 1!!! 👍🏻
herringbone flooring looks amazing
Very lovely I like how you chose soft carpet in front room rather than wooden floor.
Can't wait to see what you do next!
Wow what a great transformation.
Lovely refurb on a Victorian terrace, II love them too, bought one recently in Market Harbrough, not as large as yours but the potential is there to remodel it. Taken some inspiration from this
Fabulous job!!! Congratulations..
In a renovation of a 70s house myself at the moment. Love this video, very motivational to keep going. Looking forward to seeing the rest.

Amazing!! Just got to keep going!!
Love what your have done Chris and awaiting to see the rest. I’m on the journey of doing up my Victorian terrace. But not confident to do it all myself. Probably need to be on site and learn from watching a pro. Thanks for the inspiration, especially the covings and Cordel.
Incroyable!!!!
Congratulation!!!
Commenting for the algo. Looking forward to the rest - don’t let the vids end Chris! I should be completing soon on a massive project 680k purchase up to 1.2 / 1.3m after renovations. Still in London at the minute but moving away soon once it goes through due to Remote work and no longer needing to be in the city - shout if you want to meet for a beer!
Yup I do understand you! Some things u could afford to spend but some things u could get cheaper but dint compromise on quality !
My mind is literally blown at the coving. How genius. Attention to detail is everything to me so I appreciate the weirdness haha

Hi,@@havesomevision wondering which side of london is this property located at?
This is the first of your clips I have watched. I'm very impressed with what you have done so far and I'm enjoying the tips too. Well done, excellent job :-)
very inspiring, keep it up
Fantastic, Can I ask where you got the flooring from in the hallway? It’s just that it’s exactly what I’m looking for for my apartment and wondered if you had a link to it at all. Thank you. I have to say you have done an absolutely amazing job on the house. It looks absolutely fantastic, well worth all of the hard work you put in
Wonderful job well done 👏🏿

Congratulations! - I was watching the series and wondering how you'd got on. I've done a couple of renovations on a smaller scale myself, but I have to say your finishes are so sharp compared to anything I've managed to do!!

Amazing job, lots of tips. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the curtain pole and curtains please?
Really nice, never thought about having a lightswitch controlling floor sockets for lamps. Wondering about you signing up for trade discount, wickes one says in the trade am guessing "doing a house refurb" counts as in the trade? just about to embark on refurbing 3 bed place myself in SE london so seeing where i can save the precious monies as rewire and heating aint cheap :D
holy balls , what a house :O

Really enjoyed this video, Chris, which randomly popped up on my feed. I built my own house when I was around your age. I was working shifts, so had enough time on my days off to put the work in. It set me up for life. Mortgage paid off ten years ago and retired at 52. Congratulations and keep up the good work (Oh, and I think the words you were looking for are 'hypocritical **tch'.)
What an incredible job! Congratulations. May I ask does anybody know please in which stores one can haggle prices? It never occurred to me before.
I actually have a mitre jig for cutting polystyrene coving that I bought about 30 years ago!
Nice work - it looks great 👍
Great work! Good to see you back

This parquet flooring looks amazing. Where did it come from?
Awesome video, where did you get the exterior porch lantern from?
Good to see real and popular and people's decor away from the bourgeois decor of the leech decadent class who have amassed wealth by fraudulent means . This sort of decor of majority of hard working and honest people is what we need to see how they struggle to make their dreams come true . Salute to this young man . We need more ladies and gents to come forward to show how common people are equally aesthetically and artistically are aware and know how to decorate their homes .
a beautiful job; restored to perfection, well done; are you going to live in this lovely home?
Been waiting on this one for a minute, looks dope - great work mate

What the **** did you do to the external brickwork! The walls look as if they were built last week rather than almost 200 years ago. It's like taking a wire brush and a metal scourer to an antique dining table top, and stripping the patina completely off.
@ACAIDC
6 ай бұрын
What's the issue? It's the original brickwork. It has just been acid washed and repointed.
What area of London? We have a Victorian house in Maryland East London
Only thing I don’t like are the radiators, sorry but just my opinion. Great work for the rest of the gaff
❤
What filler and which sandpaper grit did you use please?
@havesomevision
Жыл бұрын
Polycell Trade Quick Dry Polyfilla. 120 grit I think worked best for me but used a variety
😂😂😂 50/50 End up at a celebrities house or end up getting shanked.😂😂😂 Great work guys it's a quality looking house 👍 definitely going to take some ideas from this.
What’s house value now
Looks great, shame it looks like its been repointed in cement, that'll be a nightmare for future owners. Should have been done in lime, it'll cause the bricks to spall
@havesomevision

Thanks mate! Its lime, camera doesnt show true colours

@@havesomevision ahh spot on. I've had issues with my old Edwardian house caused by cement pointing, irreparable damage :( you've done a stellar job though. I'm going through the start (again) of a similar journey, can't wait to get to where you now are
what colour and brand is the paint from in the hallway? :)
@havesomevision

Its dulux - walls and ceilings -fine cream - matt

@@havesomevision wow, it’s a perfect cream. thank you!
your house looks amazing, the only small thing I would have done different is the removal of the chimney breast, when you're doing that much work you might as well remove those too, from the looks of it one 8foot skip should be enough for those two stacks on the ground floor.
A real working fireplace would be a good idea
what's the Carpeting & lamenting cost please? 😊
