Yes, I really wanted to make this for for everyone including the newbies and video creator newbies like myself too. Wow! 10k is up there with the most I’ve ever heard about. Do you share your collection on social media or make videos yourself? I only have 2 or 3 cars from when I was 5 or 6 years old but recently I’ve been getting back into the cars I remember from the 90s! Do you have a favourite casting from Hot Wheels? And do you keep many cars in their packaging mostly? Wish you a great day and thanks again for the kind words. Lots of fun chatting with fellow Diecast collectors on YT! 🚗💨

I have several thousand cars. I have Carney wall displays just about floor to ceiling in my bedroom with other various display units filling in gaps etc. I then store leftovers or open cars I don’t wish to display or have room to display in the Creative Solutions cases from Hobby Lobby. When displaying cars I separate cars by model but then mix it up inside of each model (I.e. all Porsches displayed together but mixed by manufacturer and model). I call this this method organized disorganized organization.

Loose is best. Couldn’t agree more. Whenever I buy something new I even try and enjoy it carded but I know that as soon as I opened it the car just looks so much better and you really can’t see it properly locked away. Filling a case fully front and back feels great and having everything organised properly is essential. Which are the next sets that you’re looking forward to getting your hands on next? I definitely get the appeal of these as I currently use a massive cabinet to display/store my loose cars but I must say if you have a ton of cars that are already not in perfect shape then you really can’t beat a big storage container in terms of storage efficiency. I’m no new collector but I volunteered at a tot sale for a good few years and there usually were loads of hotwheels that got donated and not sold so I was able to buy loads of them, of course only the ones I thought were cool, for pennys on the dollar. Instead of buying 30 cases like that to store them I just have a big rug like material bin that I use to store them. Yes they might get scratched up more but they already have a good few imperfections and any that were in really good shape I put in proper display. A bin is just super space and cost efficient. Instead of spending 300 bucks on cases I spent 4 dollars on a bin and it takes up a fraction of the space a stack of cases would. Just a tip for collectors that may have quite a few beat up cars

Hey man! Thanks for taking the time to write this out. Honestly that was a really great read. Thank you. I would say that my personal collection is 40% premiums / RLC and better. Which is why I wanted to make this video to better highlight some of the more creative and awesome ways that you can better "file" your collection as you can imagine I need to be able to reference and revisit a lot of my cars for multiple reasons so having everything by car manufacturer works really great for me. I also use my displays to better showcase my favourite "types" of cars too as I like how that looks. For sure, yes, do not buy a 10 dollar case for "play worn" or similar cars. I still have a loose tub of cars that my kids play with the same one in this video. Your rug idea sounds great and it got me thinking about those tool rolls that trades people use. A version of that for cars would be fantastic to take to shows and to trades etc. Nice idea! Great chatting with you. These types of comments are one of the best parts about making videos! Thank you. Keep growing your collection and I hope you found this video both entertaining and enjoyable too. Appreciate the support my guy! 🚗💨

Glad you ran this review! Indeed the Creative Options Craft Case is used by North American collectors and live auctions. I have about 120 cases, and have been doubling up on the spaces by inserting a 1” x 3.25” 1/32 thick plexiglass between the cars to prevent scratches. I store the thinner models, like Lambos roof to roof with the plexiglass piece in between. The plexiglass is clear, so you can still see everything!

Thanks for the fast reply. I had model cars as I grew up but where I am from (ROmania) you could barely get any Maisto, Bburago or matchbox since imports were rare. So, as I said, I just started collecting (again) a few days ago (I am 38 now :))) ) as a "challenge" from one of my friends that owns a lot of them and annoys me because he's bragging all day long + never lets them in their packaging. So I decided to show him how it's done :). I currently own (if you want to look them up): - HotWheels Team Transport #54 - the actual first diecast in my collection. Fell in love with it. - HotWheels Premium : Exotic Envy BMW M1 PROCAR 3/5 (I chased this one for a few days seeing how expensive it is online (range 13-45 pounds) and I only got it for 7 pounds. - HotWheels Premium : Fast&Furious Land Rover Defender 110 (2/5) - awesome quality, feels heavy and well made - HotWheels Factory Fresh 3/10 - Ford 2020 RAM 1500 Rebel - plain black - HotWheels Muscle Mania 7/10 - '71 Plymouth GTX - awesome orange color and metallic feel to it, although it is a regular. - Matchbox 2024 - 79/100 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet - I wanted to have a first matchbox as well for quality and scale comparison. From what I noticed Matchbox scale seems very little larger at 1/64 that Hotwheels. I might be wrong but with my OCD i kinda have an obsession in seeing these things :) This is my small collection so far. Glad to have described it to you. I look at them everyday :) I would love to communicate with you more, not just here in comments. We might make good pen pals and I am sure I have a lot of things to share too regarding my collections: music, books, games, pens and now.... die cast. God bless! @@customcollects

Fantastic reply and it’s amazing that you feel so passionate about collecting Diecast models. Not only are Hot Wheels the best selling toy on the planet but collecting them is also the best hobby on this planet and yes. You must open them. The failure to enjoy something that you spent your hard earned money on can be one of the biggest sins in life. I truly believe that being able to hold them and look at them properly without the plastic blister getting in the way is a lot of fun. Your collection has great pieces! Make sure you watch my exotic envy video where I show the M1 procar. But most importantly please watch my “Huge Savings” how to buy hot wheels on Amazon Japan video as perhaps you could save money by importing Hot wheels into Romania from Japan. If you create an account and add about 8-10 things you want to buy into your basket, when you look at your subtotal it will show it to you in euro and then you can make a calculated decision if you want to pay for the shipping as you take the total amount and divide it by each car you’re buying which gives you a price per car. Make sure you watch my Amazon Japan video. I hope it will help you out. Also check google for online retailers in Romania. There must be one! I will look tomorrow and see what I can find. Thank you for your kind comment. It was a great read and I look forward to speaking with you another time fellow collector! Wish you a great weekend ahead 🚗💨

This the exact method i use to store my collection! Anybody i encounter hot wheel peg hunting i let them know about this too! We gotta look out for our fellow collectors! I have about 2000 cars in my collection. Some of them are just too big and bulky to fit in these awesome cases though. Think "matchbox working rigs". What i do there is a shoebox size or so clear plastic storage container with each vehicle wrapped in a cheap plastic sandwich bag to prevent scratching. Not the expensive ziploc kind! The cheap bags! I may pick up that label maker too! I have about 30 of these cases and when i have to add to my collection or want to look at a particular one i have to pull each case off the shelf bc sometimes its difficult to see whats in a case from the short edge while on my shelves. Btw i organize mine by type of vehicle. Porsche, Lamborghini, Japanese, work vehicles, race cars, fantasy cars, trucks/suvs, Corvette, Mustang, Camaro, so on and so forth. Great video! Good luck hunting🚙🚗🛻🚕

Hey there! Love the video, although sadly, I haven't found those in Spain, so I store them in a different way: -Basics and Semi Premium I Store them in a Hot Wheels Cardboard Mainline Case per year, putting them individually into small ziplock plastic bags so they don't get scratched. It helps me have a TON of space with the downside of not being able to get the cars I'm looking for instantly. I will most probably change this method in the future whenever I'm able to get something more expensive for storaging. Then, my premiums go into those multibricks modules that hot wheels make, so I can have them aside from mainline, although I had a problem recently with Premium Snoopy not fitting, so I'll have to find another method for big premiums. Lastly, I have one of those 50 spaces container from hot wheels that has a gorilla as the portrait. I save all THs there 🙌🏻

Thank you! I almost immediately had another idea right after I clicked upload on this video… how about storing cars by wheel type? Maybe that’s overkill but it would also look amazing too. Appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment and hope you learned something new in this one. Wish you a great day 🚗💨

Your content is very good generally and I find some elements in your videos informative. But I need to say your title in this one is a bit misleading as I was expecting to see various storage ideas like cases, boxes, displays, strip clips etc I think what best describes the video is ideas to categorise your cars (in that box). Cheers.

Haha! You have an eagle eye fellow Diecast collector. Had to get even more creative as I am reluctant to open mine. Super happy you spotted that! I actually laughed out loud watching that back and the tooned Porsche comes out right at the end. lol

Hmm. Firstly, hello! Thanks for stopping by the video. I spoke to another collector in Spain and they said much the same. You’ll know better than me which stores near you would stock a “double sided thread storage box” search for that online. You could check Amazon and eBay too but you’re going to have to pay the reseller tax I’m afraid. Good luck mate! Let me know how you get on 👍🫡

Well in Amazon and Ebay 1 box is like 20-30€ each + shipping 25€ I googled and didn't find anything similar in my country. I think i still gotta order from Creative Options and pay the import tax. Thank you though!

Since when are Hotwheel premiums called "Chase"? Isn't that reserved for Matchbox? What happened to the Treasure Hunts and Super Treasure Hunts?

Hello. Thanks for stopping by the video and for taking the time to drop a comment too. I hope you enjoyed the NON-CHASE, chase models in idea 1. Made me laugh for sure lol. The tooned Porsche was perfect! Hard to find a chase in the Uk. They most likely never even leave the stockrooms in stores near me that’s the truth. I am referring to the 0/5 black versions of premiums cars from car culture sets like I showed. Hope this helps and wish you a great day.

This is the ultimate dream my friend! Not many collectors could come close to filling all 48 compartments with one casting body shape. That’s super impressive. I wonder how many Hot Wheels castings have had 48 releases in total as well. It would be cool to have just solid Skylines, all generations! That would look amazing. Also Camaro and Silvia! Beautiful. Do you share your collection online? I would love to see it bro 👊

How do you have everything organised at the moment? I’d love to have a 2k+ collection to sit down with for one whole day and organise into storage boxes. Opening some things for the first time and keeping the rare and collectible pieces I want in their packaging and in boxes. It would be somewhat therapeutic! Thanks for stopping by the video dude and for leaving a comment too. Appreciate you bro 🚗💨

Nice! Wow yeah that is the ultimate Diecast collector version. When you have 48 of the same casting. I did think of this idea but I wouldn’t even know how many of the same I would have… maybe 10 but I doubt 20. Also. It would take ages to find them in boxes and probably need to open some… keep growing your awesome collection brother 🚗💨
