Really nice to see a good video about BDL, my hometown airport.

As a hockey fan since 1967, love hearing Brass Bonanza and great memories of coming from Boston to see a Hartford Whalers game.

Love the old wHA/NHL Hartford Whalers theme! Decades ago were full of fun home games. Gone 22 years alas...

"Brass Bonanza" says it all for Hartford! Nice touch.

Detroit Suburbs are awesome. Spent a week there prior to the Pandemic. Love all the middle eastern places and Tim Hortons!!

was there in july of 2019 flying on the MD-90 to and from ATL great flt gonna miss the 90s and 88s

B717 is a nice plane. I flew on them when Airtan was around. Many flights from ATL to MDW.

The music, in the beginning, made it sound like you were very excited to fly the 717! I hope I can hop on one of these birds again ( i have not been on a 717 since Airtran) before they go into retirement. Great Video!

Little insight I flew a 717 down to Orlando back when AirTran still had them from DTW a few yrs back. During a snow storm. It was a nice get away for me that yr. They bv do give a nice ride. I miss AirTran they had some great deals back then.

I'm from Scotland so have no idea about the significance of the music, but loved the upbeat intro. Also, over here we never get the chance to fly this beauty so thanks for posting!

what i like about the 717 88s &90s are the 5 abreast seating also my fav seat is 26a and it is surprising quiet

Oh cool I flew on N947AT from JFK to Minneapolis last year in July the flight was excellent I love B717-200s all day

It's crazy how in the distance (top left at 14:14 where the blinking white lights are to the left of the red blinking ones) is where I used to live.

I always enjoy your trip reviews. I try and fly the 717 if I can. It's the closest thing to the MD 80 and DC-9. Which were my favorite planes. Keep up the great content

Former Delta Connection/Comair Flight Attendant here. Still love flying and it will always be in my blood. Love this video, especially because next Saturday I will have my first flight on the 717 from ATL to DAB. Was originally an MD88 (😥), but still essentially a Mad Dog.

I have flewen this Mad Dog-MD88 out of Orlando to Laguardia but the landing it's really loud. The takeoff was extremely scary I almost threw up (🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮)

Hi Chris, I had my 1st B717 flight in March this year after restrictions were lifted. Flew on Qantas from Sunshine Coast Queensland down to Melbourne, great ride, however the old girl was looking her age. Still heaps of 717’s flying the Australian skies everyday.....

I miss living out east. From Stamford originally and usually flew out of White Plains but miss going to Hartford as a kid. And yes bring back the Whalers plz

Great report! I'm surprised they took this long and a pandemic to retire the MD80s. Some of those things are like 30 years old, its insane! I flew in an MD80 in First Class a few years back. the front is extremely quiet. I have yet to try the 717s, looks like a neat little aircraft.

BDL 💛💛💛 my home airport!

BDL!!! my home airport!! DFW will be my new one starting April 5th. Going to miss BDL but I absolutely love DFW.

It's a great Airport. I live about 40min away. We used to have nonstop to AMS on Northwest which was scrapped after Delta bought it. Currently the longest domestic route we have is BDL-LAX on AA on the 737-8.

I love the music!

I flew on a 717 from PIT to FLL back in 2012 when they were with Airtran. It is a very solid craft (Like all of the DC-9 descendants). I kind of wish Southwest had kept them, but I know their thing with the all 737 fleet. Loved seeing it in the air again.

I flew 717 Delta from Orlando to Laguardia. Then 2019 I flew United 737 from Laguardia to Chicago then my first 737 American from Chicago O'Hara to NY Laguardia

Lol I usually get these things almost every time :D

on the 90 when we departed we did a power takeoff cause of the winds and the load & RY24 /6 were closed we used almost the entire length

I think I might have been on that Dublin arrival if this was in January with the limited winter schedule. This was very similar weather to when we landed.

Hearing Brass Bonanza earns an immediate like from me. I miss the Whalers.

I rode a 717 (N960AT) RDU-MSP 3 years ago. Great ride. Unfortunately with the 221s coming on line with all its efficiencies and the 221 seats 109 vs 110 on the 717. It just doesn't make business sense to keep them as the fleet will need to be smaller for the next few years.

Aloha! If you ever want another B717 ride, Hawaiian Air's total inter-island jet fleet are B717s, perhaps the largest concentration still flying. They are perfect for inter-island travel since most flights are a half hour or less. I'd be reluctant to board longer flights, though, because of my bust knee. Still, I enjoy inter-island trips, especially when I take grandkids to visit relatives. My formerly frequent trips, of course, won't happen again any time soon. Please DO NOT travel to Hawai'i until the COVID-19 pandemic quiets down. 90% of cases here are travel related, brought by people flying in. There's a mandatory 14 day quarantine for all incoming passengers. Violators are thrown in jail.

pretty much all of deltas fleet has seatback screens except the 717 but the 717 doesnt really need them since its just a small about 100 seat regional jet, however the replacement for the 717 (the airbus a220 according to google) has seatback screens, i rode the delta a220-100 and it had seatback screens and "the lew with a view"

The last T tail in the DL fleet... :(

i know those planes with engines in the back dc-9 boeing 727 extremely loud but the md 88 boeing 717 loud but not too loud

The non-hockey fans have no idea what we're talking about. We hockey nuts understood "Brass Bonanza" playing on a Hartford video, and it got our blood pumping.

when i was there Aer Lingus used the 757 which is better than a 321 anyday

seems to be the md-95/boeing 717 engines are boeing's sounds not the md engines you hear

Fokker 70's retired a few years ago.

Music sounds very 70's,almost like background for a commercial! Who was your dining partner at the Saybrook Fish House? Amazing how fast things change in a mere 5 months--no social distancing, no face masks on board,nothing said about 'be safe'--none of this was the mindset at the time--really surprised to see Aer LIngus at BDL,am guessing there was US preclearance in Dublin--I guess your flight routing was top secret since you got a 'Forbidden' notice! :) Flying over Ontario,you can safely say you were 'out of the country' briefly--my understanding is that the Detroit River was used for liquor smuggling during Prohibition--interesting choice of "Let it Shine' as the ending music

i know dublin has us immigration and customs preclearance which allows passengers to deplane in america not having to go thru immigrations and customs in the u.s.

I thought that the Canes were going to come out in their old white and green jerseys (1972-1991) at the beginning.

Bradley is basically just Connecticut's version of EWR.

Music sounds like something NFL Films used in the 70's and 80's on films whenever a team won something big.

Great report but Delta is KEEPING their B717-200 fleet until another decade so you’ll have a lot of time flying on the B717-200 aircrafts plus their scheduled to get IFE Tv screens onboard their aircrafts so yea they’ll be around for awhile.

i heard detriot airport has those dots hard for planespotting and filming there, also after deltas md 88s and 90s get retired they will be flying these 717s from omaha to atlanta, why is delta making passengers in omaha fly these old planes to atlanta instead of like the airbus a321 or airbus a220 or boeing 737-800 or 900, but as of now the 717 is old but not ancient but will be 10 years from now
