FULL FIGHT | Joseph Parker V Joe Joyce (2022) FHD

Ойын-сауық

Britain's Joe Joyce walked through the best New Zealander Joseph Parker had to offer to knock out his rival in the 11th round of a thrilling fight in Manchester. The heavyweights went toe-to-toe in a back and forth contest before a stunning left hook landed flush on the chin of Parker. Joyce claimed the WBO interim heavyweight title with the biggest win of his career and now has his eyes set on challenging heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in 2023.
The Briton's step up in class had been debated all week after 14 pro fights against lower-level opponents, but he showed a granite chin to become the first man to stop Parker, a former world champion. "Joseph Parker, what afighter," Joyce said. "It was a tough fight. What a tough fight. I had to dig deep to get through the rounds. I really enjoyed it." #JosephParker #JoeJoyce #Boxing #samoamedia ‪@SamoaMediaNZ‬

    Incredible fight. Joyce has finally convinced me at last that now he is right up there in the top band, but he must get a move on with his age. Parker was incredible and remained a danger throughout and what a sportsman. It shows Dubois just how he must improve to this higher level to move up, but I think he can.

  • @angrysocialjusticewarrior

    @angrysocialjusticewarrior

    Жыл бұрын

    I agree, he should really start trying to move things along quicker in his career because age is not on his side. Strength and power may be the last things to go with age, but punch resistance tends to drop relatively quickly just like speed and reflexes. And its no secret how integral punch resistance is to Joe's style. But I think he is already aware of this, which is why he has already called out the big guns like Usyk and Fury.

    Saw it live and had to watch it again. Joe Joyce should now be getting the praise he deserves as a serious, dangerous boxer. It just looked as though Parker hit Joyce with a clean hard right hand and Joyce just said 'I've got one of those'. Amazing engine, chin, power and deceptive footwork, as Parker just kept finding himself walked into a corner. Excellent performance and very good fight. Good luck to Joy Joyce finding an opponent, as they would have all been watching that.

    The guy looks very dangerous, I've read people saying he's slow but George Foreman was slow. Other than possibly Wilder I can't see anyone who can KO him he seems to walk through punches ; I think Fury would beat him on points late and maybe Wilder but he'd have to unload the sledgehammer or Joyce would walk him down. Not Sure if Uysk can compete with this version of Joyce. Deserves a shot and well done to him.

Parker is only 30, still young for HW, and will surely be back (hopefully with a new trainer and better game plan; he was too heavy, not mobile & quick enough, and he gassed out early.) Joyce fights slow to conserve energy so he can keep coming forward at the same pace, it also helps him to keep throwing punches too because he's not wearing him self out where as if he was fighting at a faster pace, which keeps his opponenst moving backwards and they drain their energy just trying to defend Joyce's onslaughts which enables him to pick up the pace once he sees that they are getting tired
