Thanks for the video. I got a used Xbox One from Goodwill. I went out and bought a controller and power cord. Once I hooked everything up and connected to my wifi, I realized that whomever it belonged to was still signed in to their account and hadn't updated the Xbox in quite a while. I've deleted all the profiles. Once I get everything updated I'll do the factory reset that you mentioned.

Thanks mate, just reset mine to factory settings because I’m selling it and I am getting the newest Xbox one X series X. I’ve been selling tonnes of old consoles and old controllers and pocketing the money towards the latest console. Simplicity is best nowadays don’t want to have the complication of stockpiling old consoles when they can be recycled or given to somebody else who’ll enjoy them. Thanks again very helpful video 👍

Update: didn’t fix it, but what DID fix my issue is SLOWLY inserting the microphone aux into the controller. Then I was able to adjust the game/chat audio slider

I'm having a very specific problem that makes the console unplayable and I can't find the solution anywhere, hope this fix it

Hadn't tried it but this helps. I've been having a weird issue that I need a fix for which is not being able to hear anyone on mic plus I cant matchmake with anyone on a different system, it just doesn't work. Plus my games crash and lag all the time for no reason.

I have to do this regulary but I did the keep games and apps, do you think if I delete games and apps it’ll stop my Xbox from breaking FYI my Xbox gets stuck on screens like a dark grey screen where I can hear the Xbox when I hold the middle button on my controller but nothing comes up on the screen I sometimes can’t log in or load games I sometimes get the endless green screen I’d like to hear what u think I should do and if I should send it in to a repair shop

About how long should a factory reset take. I’m currently trying to do mine and the screen turned off but the Xbox is still on. I just want to make sure it’s working. I haven’t used my Xbox in a while and it has a whole bunch of problems hopefully it is working

I did a successful factory reset of my Xbox one as I plan on selling it off. But when it resets it doesn’t turn off and automatically goes to the initial set up stage. At this point, is it safe to manually turn the console off since I want to leave that to the new user? Will doing so run the risk of corrupting the system somehow?

could be a heat thing so worth opening it up and cleaning the dust out and same for the PSU they have a little filter to clean also. if that doesn't improve then a system file reset is a good idea

there is a way you can reset the video output to the factory settings How to reset your Xbox One's display settings First, totally power down your Xbox One by holding the power button on the console for 5-10 seconds. Don't just tap it; hold the button down. Next, turn it back on by holding both the disc eject and power buttons for a good 10-20 seconds.

I have a question about my xbox. (Its model is an Xbox one X and it is 2 or 3 years old.) Monday i reset it by holding the button down until the screen changed (5 seconds). Then i pressed the button again to turn it on but the entire startup was a black screen. After that everything was slow. Only spotify and fortnite where affected but I fixed spotify with a simple 10 second button hold and a 15 second power disconnection. However, fortnite was still not working and it kept saying there was an error but I cant remember the error code. It also said to hold the power button down for 10 seconds if it happened again. I did that and when I launched fortnite it said the same thing. It did that every time I restarted the console. Then I uninstalled and installed it again and it solved the problem for a couple hours. Then my game crashed and it said the same thing. Earlier today the same thing happened on roblox but it didn't happen before when the problem started. Also another thing to add is that the xbox light blinks when I turn it off and one time it started blinking really fast and then turned off. Please help me.

Just wonder if I did this. And I wernt gonna sell it and I just wanted to restart everything on xbox but still play on will the pads what I used for it work or will I Have to get a new pad ????

Hey I did all of this until 2:32 and then when I tried to set up my account and play minecraft it got me to a weird version of minecraft and it doesn't let me play on my world's, when I click on them they disappear and it sometimes it says that the words are from a newer update and so I try to update minecraft but it doesn't have any updates, so idk what to do; They look like they are damaged ir something they look gray.

Sir if you have time to help me with my question, whenI reset my Xbox one to default settings including deleting all games and accounts, and when deleting the accounts would it delete my all my accounts on my series X?

Will I have to log into all my accounts in games cause if I do I don’t know the information and I’m nervous that I will never find the information for those apps and games

that is always a concern. you have to weigh up the pros and cons. if your console isn't working there isn't much else you can do.

So if i factory reset It will remove everything. I am trying to sell my xbox. Is this what i should do?

Yes and remove the Microsoft account for the device on the web site

Would this reset the storage to its full 1TB after you remove everything?

Yes it will but some is taken by the operating system

I download some mods for minecraft and i messed it up and downloaded i virus will this help it i did the one were i will keep my games and app or do i need to do the one were it gets rid of everything

try the less aggressive one first and then scan and check

I have to factory reset mine after 6yrs of use to see if I can apply the most recent update. It keeps trying to update and won't restart during the update. It'll try to turn on but won't. I'm thinking that since it's 6yrs old l, it's at the end of its life and might be time for a new one. After about 30mins of being unplugged cross my dang fingers it'll turn back on but won't update at all.
