Full Everest Base Camp Trek | Traveling to Nepal & Hiking 12 days on EBC Trek as a Family
Our family traveled to Nepal to backpack or trek through the Himalayan Mountains to Mt. Everest Base Camp. We were in Nepal and hiking from May 22nd - June 6th. Hiking as a family is something that brings us together and we hope it inspires other families to do their own adventures as well.
This is a full length video of our entire 12 day trek from Kathmandu to Mt. Everest Base Camp and back again. For a more details you can also watch our 4 part series of our trip which is linked below:
Our first video highlights our first three days in Kathmandu, Nepal and us heading to the start of our hike in Lukla at 9,337'. Our second video highlights from Lukla to Namche Bazaar. The third video is from Namchee Bazaar through out acclimatization day in Dingboche, where we climb to the top of Nangkartshang Peak. The forth video is the final in the four part series of hiking to Mt. Everest Basecamp in Nepal. We will hike from Dingboche, through Lobuche, to Gorek Shep, then on to Everest Base Camp, and Josh heads up to the peak of Kala Patthar for views of Mt. Everest herself.
Thanks for watching!

Sutton Family, I’m in my mid 70s and have had many of my own adventures, none at the extreme levels yours were. I particularly loved this one but less for the exceptional beauty of the Himalayas. I could see Harvey maturing into his own person, stronger and wiser, and you as a family, less into the superficial s and more focused on culture and community. Seeing Harvey as a child of the world vs of the US . Someday I would love to see you do the Camino , not for the churches or the abuergues, but I’d want everybody speaking fluent Spanish and continue to see Harvey develop as a citizen of the world. Sorry if I come off the wrong way, was never my intention. I am watching this from a small very unpleasant room in rehab after almost not surviving a very scary experience. I have had so many feelings and thoughts about watching this, maybe feel more connected perhaps because perhaps I feel less like I will live forever and want to connect with everything, even had a very strange dream about Harvey that has magic in it. Would love to meet you in real life sometime. I live in Albuquerque and New Mexico has amazing native hikes and experiences that are truly enchanting, there is a thousand year old village which has easy hikes I could do, and simple car camping. But everyone talks of spiritual significance kind of a thing I hope for him. I’m only a little worried this is too long and personal and very worried this will come off presumptions. I hope you do not see it that way. I believe i might be connecting not as a a fan, but as an elder connecting to like minded younger people and children. Hope we can communicate more personally, love you Sutton, Jay..I think I’m trying to find meaning as an elder, a term I prefer over the silly senior.

Great video! Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m planning to go in the mid April 2024. Have few questions: How is the entire trek for intermediate level hikers? How was the Kala Paththar hike? How much weight and personal items you carried in your backpack? Our guide is suggesting to go to Gokyo Ri via Cho La Pass after EBC. That adds three more days. Based on your experience, difficulty levels, daily elevation gains etc…what would you suggest?
Can you explain the cloth on the outside of the fence
Thanks for sharing your amazing we experience 😍 Lovesld the landscape 😮😮 Which app are you using to show routes from one place to another?
