For those confused about "Malevolent Kitchen". It is an alright literal translation but does not take into account context or past usage and is therefore incorrect. It was later corrected and returned to "Malevolent Shrine" and is "Malevolent Shrine" in the english dub. It is pretty obvious they had a translator who was unfamiliar with the series and when needing context for translation that is usually a bad thing. Sukuna's domain in Japanese has 3 specific meanings Gege is playing on in "Shrine", "Kitchen", and "a place where demons are". "Shrine" is obviously alluding to the look of the shrine that makes up his domain as well as his corrupted Buddhist imagery, "Kitchen" is in reference to his hedonism, cannibalism, and kitchen themed moveset, and "a place where demons are" could be literal or figurative depending on what Sukuna's shrine actually is. There is no word in English that means all three of these things and therefore one of them has to be chosen and what they had chosen in the past was "shrine". Thus his domain in English is "Malevolent Shrine". This choice makes the most sense both in terms of imagery - his domain clearly depicts a corrupted shrine - but also sounds the best.

It was on purpose shrine and kitchen have the same kanji. Manga translation tought that Shrine fit better because of how Sukuna domain looks. But after recent chapters and the name of his attacks Sukuna domain probably was meant to be Kitchen.

It wasn't on purpose so much as it was a correct translation that lacked understanding of prior usage and was therefore wrong. Gege likes to use kanji that have multiple meanings and have many of those meanings applicable and it does not translate. Sukuna's domain in japanese has 3 specific meanings that Gege is playing on and those are "Shrine", "Kitchen", and "a place where demons are". Shrine is obvious in that he is largely associated with corrupt buddhist imagery and that is what his domain actually looks like, "kitchen" is a play on his hedonism, cannibalism, and his kitchen themed moveset, and "a place where demons are" could be metaphorical or literal depending on what the shrine actually represents. There is not an english word that has these 3 meanings so you have to pick one, and Malevolent Shrine is what they went with and, IMO, is the best one not only because it sounds badass but it straight up looks like a corrupted shrine. They later corrected "Kitchen" to "Shrine".
