There should be a film about the Nubian Pharaoh Taharqa who saved the Jews from the Assyrians in 701 BCE and continued to rule for 26 years when he was crowned in Memphis and Queen Amanirenas who was described as brave and blind in one eye by Strabo and how she managed to fought off the Roman's in a war that lasted for five years from 27 - 22 BCE.

So refreshing Josh is the only white guy in the room for one of these. Usually it's the other way around.

Low-key I'm so proud and happy because leading black men have genuinely dominated TV this year. This is deserved and long overdue.

ALL of them are very INTELLIGENT.. and the EYE CANDY IS A BONUS!!

I appreciate all the actors on this panel, but can't hide my pride that they're mostly brothers.

Yes! It seems as if they’re really listening to and adding to ideas from each other. Each is in a pretty rarefied position, and they all need support from friends who understand their lives. I feel as if they’ll follow up after this round table and stay in touch.

Such a brilliant episode with a majority of beautiful black men. The chat was superb and I love that THR didn't make a big deal about it but carried on as though it's normal cos it should be and they're all extraordinarily talented. I smiled all through this and especially loved how they kept on the conversation and compliments even after the host left.

Did not think I’d leave this more drawn in by Regé’s mind than his looks. He is SO brilliant!

I’m listening and working while watching, and just did an entire double-take! Such a pleasure to see each of these dramatic actors, including Josh, but having the majority of the panelists from varied parts of the African diaspora is such a pleasant surprise! Indeed, Lovecraft is the hardest to watch. Fargo also for different reasons .. Not sure why I haven' finished watching the Crown. Will force myself to watch All. I do think Industry Pros know exactly what they are doing...for sure and are Sooo genius that they know what roles to give up and coming Actors - they put an opposing part of them or their lives in each characters journey. Amazing!

The interviewer did such a great job guiding this conversation. I haven’t seen such a great roundtable in a while!

Loved that they were all so supportive and listening to their viewpoints on the different questions asked. Plus, my husband actually walked by and ended up watching the whole thing with me. He loves thoughtful, intelligent conversation as do I.

Loved loved loved the love session on with John Boyega giving him the credit he deserves by being a leader in his field in more ways than one. Such a great conversation

I think this year Netflix has brought on a bunch of new actors who are not only eye candy, but very talented in their craft... Thanks to this interview, now I'm interested in wanting to watch Lovecraft country, just to be introduced to Jonathan Majors acting skills. Never knew this actor or the show, but I'm glad the Hollywood reporters has introduce him to us....

We've just watched the Next crop of Future Directors.

This was such a wonderful, heart felt and powerful conversation between actors. I cannot get over how moved I was at the end of this hour long conversation. They are all so thoughtful and respectful of themselves, the work and the audience. Bravo, gentlemen, bravo!

Lacey's questions were so considered - always are with THR but these stood out especially. Thank you so much for such a wonderful conversation!!

I love how all the british dudes laughed at each other while the americans were like "yes, yes"

I am so proud of THR. This is the kind of organic and mindful demonstration of DEI that we need. Giving everything it was supposed to give. Please do the same for female leads. And the host is awesome.

I appreciated how enjoyable Josh seemed to find the conversation even though he was not always the center.

@@afrogalp2102 They have only done one book so far and they followed it some but changed and added stuff too. I've read them all. Each book is a different story about a different sibling. Shondaland only had him sign a one year contract which he liked since it would make him free to do other things. She should have had him sign a 3 year contract but did not. They did try to get him to make some appearances but he turned them down. He is currently filming Dungeons and Dragons and finished filming The Gray Man last month. It is not out of the question that he can return for a later season. Four seasons have been greenlit. As of now he isn't in season two, the character will be mentioned though so perhaps he will return in a later season. You just never know.

This is a brilliant conversation. Honestly surprised by the candor and the insight. Bravo to these 5 actors. Much respect.

This was an extraordinary roundtable! They really came off as authentic, honest and honorable. Well done.

Great roundtable, I could listen to Chris Rock talk about his experiences in the industry all day.

Loved this conversation. Rooting for Josh but I loved Regé’s performance in Bridgerton too.

By definition this isnt diverse at all! Almost the complete opposite. Diverse means a RANGE of Different social and ethinic backgrounds. Diverse would be the addition of women, asians, latino that sorta thing ;) 5 men (4 black) is not diverse in the same way that a panel with 4 white men and 1 black man is not diverse. Im a black Man btw. And im happy with the make up of the panel. I just hate how we define diverse these days. Carry on.

my friend asked me what is the synonym for adorable? I said it's Josh O'Connor.

I really like how they built off what the other said. That sort of echoing, verbal mirroring. It struck me in particular with Jonathan and Josh (like that moment about 'questioning' yourself and bringing that into your roles, or being stuck in the circumstances you're born in). It not only showed how attentive they were to what the others were saying but allowed for a sort of relatableness to experiences in a broader sense, if not always in a specific way. (I don't know if I'm making sense!) But it really added seamlessness to the conversation and definitely drew me in. (You know, beyond the great responses the questions generated and just their general energy with the hostess and each other.)

I kept seeing the 3 English guys laughing/smiling together and providing a great atmosphere, whilst the Americans looked more serious even though they seemed to be enjoying the conversation too.

Love the diversity we are seeing in British actors…. Small steps.

Jonathan Majors and Josh O'Connor...here for them! The Crown and Lovecraft Country were phenomenal. Jonathan Majors deserves an Emmy nomination as much as Josh, come on!
