I smiled through the entire interview. It's hard to believe that one person can be the total package. I could watch and listen to him for hours on end.

I will absolutely miss his character in Bridgerton and he will be forever our Duke. But more importantly Rege included us. He did this with style, brilliance and integrity. He certainly has changed the game forever.

He oozes elegance and this really calm demeanor that makes the way he speaks so captivating, you just want to listen to him speak

Rege' Jean Page is an amazing actor. While I'm greatly disappointed that he will not be returning to season 2, I belive it is the right move for his career. Simon will be missed and I wish Rege' nothing but all the success in life and look forward to seeing him featured in other major films. Good luck.

I agree. In the movie industry you have to strike while the iron is hot. Here's a once in a life time chance to get James Bond and other marquee movie contracts. When the opportunity presents itself you can't be locked into a Bridgerton contract with marginal exposure and miss out. Bridgerton is pegged for 8 shows. If things didn't work out I'm sure the Bridgerton folks would welcome him back any time with open arms.

It's been six months now since Bridgerton was released and I still can't get over the duke of hastings and just Rege Jean Page as an actor and a person in general. I can't wait for his future projects and how much of a difference he is going to make in the industry with his unique style and looks.

Well they had great chemistry, he knows his angles, he knows how to smolder with a look, he built a great character with depth. He is a great thoughtful actor. I hope to see more of him. As an actor I hope to someday even get to share a scene with him.

It's been years since I read the books but I remember Simon being in either book 2 or 3. He is Anthony's best friend, after all and married to their eldest sister. Pretty sure one of the sisters ran away to their country house to get away from everything, but like I said, it's been a long time since I read them.

In another interview, Regé claimed it was the makeup artists that made him so attractive and duke-like. But frankly, I can't see much difference between his look here and his look in _Bridgerton._ What a gorgeous man! In every way. I am still very mad that Simon is not coming back. We hear you but we will miss not only the character but also mainly the amazing actor who created the magic in Bridgerton. Lovely interview. He and Chris Evans share some similar characteristics.. the intellect, wit and gorgeous to boot. Very passionate individual. Cheering you on in all your endeavours Rege. Grew up with lots of historical romance novels so watching Bridgerton back in December was a treat. Can't wait to see what you do next.

I have watched Bridgerton season 1 five times... I didn't care for season 2 but Bridgerton season 1 was ABSOLUTELY 😍😍😍😍 I have also read the book Duke & I Thank u to all who were involved in these projects 🌹🙂🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 I'm a fan for life

I am glad that he got the recognition he deserves for Bridgerton and I am equally sure his future is promising considering how varied his roles are. I am sure viewers will be sad if a fan-favourite character from S2 will not appear in S3.

There probably won't be any "fan favorites" in Season 2, since we already know majority of all of the characters. I'm sure the actresses playing Kate (the main female protagonist/lead in Season 2) and Edwina won't have the popularity and success of Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor. Incomparable already.

My whole family is a fan of Regé, - am a grandmother of two and just admire this young man. As Sterling K. Brown stated, Regé speaks the King English beautifully. My son is a college professor teaching English and agree and he marvels at Regé deep intellect for such a young age.

Yes. Rewatching the show is eye candy but watching his interviews is way more idk, delicious. He listens intently, has charming responses, communicates with thoroughness, loves to laugh and smile, references reading and studying and building his talents…in addition to being beautiful! What a healthy relationship with life! At this point, he’s raised the bar. Don’t mind me, I’ll just be single for several years til I find my own person

I could listen to Regé Jean speak for the whole day. He speaks with such eloquence and intelligence. I wish I could say that I have a sense of calm when he speaks but he is too fine, that would be a lie. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Simon is the same parentage of my own son, so I wanted things to go well for him as well as for the actor. So, I am pleased about how the character was developed. I strongly believe Rege will do very well in his ongoing career and life.

Wonder is he sick of the whole burning thing. I was so stuck on the show, when they said he wouldn’t be back it was like my connection was cut off and I was relieved because I was sooooooo stuck!🤣🤣🤣 Then I watched Sylvie just so I could see him and it was refreshing because the character was very different. Can’t wait to see him in other things and see the width and breadth of his talent.

I’ll miss him n season two but I wasn’t surprised that he won’t be in it. Simon isn’t really in the books as much after his book But I do hope he is involved in one of my favorite parts of the fourth books.

I love him. I probably won't watch anymore seasons if he's not in bridgerton

You should totally watch the 2nd season. The chemistry between the viscount and Kate is off the charts.

The moment the story got my heart for Simon was when he decided not to see the opera mistress. Looks or not, i would have seen him in a different light. They knew what they were doing there.

I understand that they are following the book series - with each book focusing on a Bridgerton sibling - but a tv show is a different type of product. The audience response is wider and more emotional, and so in my opinion is the attachment to character, in the sense that you see them physically. Daphne may still be part of the story but the actress who plays her could easily get understimulated, after such a hype, if she won’t have any interesting plot on her own, which I find difficult if they can’t show her husband. I feat they are taking a big risk letting the Duke go but let’s see.

Well she is supposed to get "understimulated" as you put it. The next stories are not about her. We may not even see her on every episode. She is probably going to be as annoying with supporting Anthony finding love as he was to her when she was looking for a husband.

@@nicim3730 well yes and no. While not the lead in season 1, Anthony, Colin and Benedict all enjoyed an interesting storyline (especially Anthony, in my opinion). Now the same possibility for Daphne is 0. If they flatten out every character after he/she gets married, I am afraid the show overall will lose power. But let’s see.

@@80sherazade Yep, it's the fact that all 3 Bridgerton brothers had alot of screentime and side stories in season one already that could've gone to Simon and Daphne. We only had 8 episodes of Simon/Daphne, so of course this is disappointing. But now that Rege has moved on, they have decided to follow the books more closely.

@@MayLily Exactly! Also the spin-off for Queen Charlotte, if I am not mistaken, is something original for the show. But hey for Simon and Daphne, the book is law...

@@80sherazade that was to introduce them and set them up for their future arcs. I don't see them having anything else significant for her. This genre doesn't follow up with former protagonists and show how they are doing with their happily ever after.

I noticed him in For the people. It is a shame the series were cancelled.
