That's quite a collection. Maybe mine will get there one day. I continue to slowly add to it. Videos like this are a much more interesting way to discover Criterion discs I may want than simply reading a list on a website. I'm making my list so I'm ready for the next flash sale. A wonderful collection, Dave! I’ve got about 300 Criterion titles myself and hope to keep building on that with the Flash and B&N sales later this year. Really enjoyed the episode!

Wow that's quite a collection Dave. I have maybe 40 at most. I do have "Time Bandits" and "Brazil" coming in tomorrow. I ordered them last week after I got the 4k of "The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen" because somebody had said they were part of a fantasy trilogy by Terry Gilliam. I did see you have the Karel Zeman Criterion Collection. I Love that version of "Baron Munchausen" as well. Anyway you got some Great stuff Dave.

Thanks Michael. I try to add a few more Criterion films to my collection each year mostly during the sales. Love my movie shelves too and spend lots of time in the Criterion hallway. Love it! I need to pickup “Time Bandits”, “Brazil”, and “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen” at some point too. All great films!

I am always interested in how people organize their titles, I do organize mine by alphabetical order as I find it easier to find titles, but I have thought about spine number too.

Alphabetical seems preferable sometimes though I am getting used to the collection in spine number order and generally can find titles pretty quickly.

Wow such an amazing collection. I hope to have a collection some day like you have.. when i become financially independent.

Great collection, Dave! Do you look for the out of print Criterion releases or ones that haven't been brought over to Blu-ray? In order to add to your collection, or would you go with another label that has released it on Blu-ray?

Very impressive collection! I didn’t know that the mad mad mad mad world blu-ray was available in a cardboard box. I bought it for my dad for his birthday last year and it was in a plastic case. I wonder if they both have the same contents. My dad loves the movie very much

Hello Dave, Have you seen The Emigrants, about Swedish people settling in 1850s America, it’s a double feature from Criterion with its sequel The New Land? From the 1970s starring Liv Ullmann and Max Von Sydow. Others I would recommend that I didn’t see in the video are the BRD Trilogy and The Leopard. A very impressive collection you have!

I admire and am jealous of your Criterion collection. I have a fair amount, but I don’t separate them by label and I definitely don’t have that many. Always a great label, though. Besides knowing you’ll get a get transfer, the features are usually top notch.

Hi Joshua. Adding to my collection little by little each year. Totally agree about the quality of each Criterion release especially the extra features. Still my favorite label after all these years though I love collecting Indicator, Kino Lorber, Warner Archive titles too as well as a few other boutique labels.

I like Arrow a lot too. BTW: a nice companion to that Godzilla set is their Gamera one. It actually covers the whole run of movies and includes packed in comics and a ton of features (plus the art work is by a guy the family and I kind of know).

I have finally found a shop near me in the uk that sells criterion, I have 9 now. Really cool collection, I’m hoping to get either the Bergman or Pasolini collection for my upcoming Birthday.

Great collection Dave! I have been building on mine this past year and look forward to the next sale to add even more but I’m discouraged with so many titles that I still want coming out on 4k by Kino. Now buying them on Blu-ray with criterion.. I feel like I’m missing out on the next version of these films. Will you still continue to collect the criterion Blu-rays vs upgrading to 4k (I am assuming criterion won’t upgrade to 4k on the ones Kino puts out!?)

Thanks Sue. I’m adding a few more titles every year mostly during sales. For me, I’m planning on picking up mostly Blu-rays but might consider 4K if the price is right. I’d rather have more films to watch than spend a lot on 4K releases. Just a preference at this point. 😀

Wonderful collection. I do recommend another film of the criterion collection The Uninvited from the 1940s. It's a early haunted house movie.

I have A bunch of criterions I been collecting for years but I've become more selectable in my recent days and only want to get things I am general interested in and what would you say are your Favorite Criterions in your collection besides the ones on the top of the shelf? I really enjoyed Night of The Hunter, Island of Lost Souls, & The Great Dictator

Thanks for your comment and recommendations. Picking top favorites is tough but some are: 12 Angry Men, Taste of Cherry, David Lynch: The Art Life, Crumb, Fishing with John, Heart of a Dog, Down by Law.

Hi Dave! What a great collection! Btw, I would like to ask if Criterion DVDs are still worth it to buy even though there are Blu-ray versions? The cheap prices of CC DVDs are so tempting.
