This is awesome! I see that the 90cm version has CAD files available. Does the 42cm version also have files available? I don't have the skill set to create something like this but I might try it one day. I would really like to have a micro DLG that looks like a scaled 1.5M DLG like this. If you ever feel like getting rid of your snap... even if it is snapped... let me know! :)

Very nice! Do you have any build photos / article with close up details of how you managed to setup servos, etc.? Thanks for sharing.
I never saw a discus launch, only slope soaring, I wanted to see how high it could be tossed and its preformance over flat land.

So ein geiles teil, ist aber vielleicht nicht der beste als bauanfänger :P

It is made out of uni directional carbon fibre and carbon fleece. The fom cores of the fuselage and wings are Depron foam.

It is a discus glider, it flys off of thermals

It uses kinetic energy to convert it in to potential

He's getting a lot of lift energy from breeze flowing up the slope, aka slope soaring. Such a small and light plane flies best in very light winds, or if there is no wind and using rising thermals like a standard glider and many birds do. Unfortunately this means that even moderate gusts of winds can be too much for a pilot to control though adding more ballast and forward center of gravity helps it stay stable and penetrate breezes. I've made and flown many similar micro aircraft and they are fun but more challenging to build and fly than larger RCs
