@@ElectronSurfer I have the Road version and use Assist level 1 (80+%) of the time. Only gentle rolling hills around here. I’m 190lbs but getting 25-30 miles each ride with a batt bar left. I’m thrilled as I only use it recreationally and not for commute.

Looks like you're riding along the American River near Carmichael CA - nice trail and nice bike.

@@ElectronSurfer Was thinking about buying. Are you implying that it's not so good on hills? I've ridden that trail a couple times from Sac to Folsum and back. Nice ride indeed. Thanks!

I think I said it straight out vs implying! I don't think a low power hub motor is the right option for hills, a mid-drive is soo much better. It will give you some help so depending on how you ride it could work but the motor will be easily overworked.

Pretty color but I like the grey also! Great bike!!

I agree, I first thought about the grey. I had the Prodigy in Chameleon and when I find out the black had the same colors at different angles I wanted it! Cheers

What a good looking bike, the black color looks so much better than the grey, love the idea of a 13 kg electric gravel and road bike, agree ride1up is doing the lord's work by releasing all these high quality cheap bikes, the other brands that want to sell you this for 6k will have to adapt lol, could you do another review with pedal assist 5?

I agree super sharp, I will be uploading a performance video with 3 range tests including one in assist 5 most of the time. I really like that Ride1up isn't going the fat tire route on their lineup, lighter bikes with better efficiency are what people need in my view. Thanks for the comment!

I've ridden from my relative's house in Arden Park many times over the last 20 years and immediately recognized where you were riding. I've ridden the length of the American River path many times. I'm wondering how well the CF Racer would get me up Mount Tamalpais here in Marin County though?

Awesome, to me a low power hub motor is not great on hills, the mid-drive system on the Prodigy would be much better. I guess it depends on your riding style but personally I would not go the CF Racer route for hills.

I currently ride a regular hybrid bike through mountainous terrain in Nevada, with elevations changes from 200 to about 1000 feet. Often, fatigue sets in, and the ride back can be brutal. What are your thoughts on the CF Racer 1 handling these conditions? I'm looking for a bike that can assist me but still allows me to turn off the motor. Do you think having gears only in the rear would be sufficient?

I would do the ride and see what range of gears you actually use on your hybrid to see if this bike will work. The CF Racer 1 will only make it a little easier so you would likely still have to shift the same amount and only you know if the number of gears will work, I don't live in a hilly area. I would never turn the motor off completely, if you want to do that you can save 10 pounds and get a non-powered carbon bike.

Are accessories limited due to the handle are? Such as Quadlock phone holders?

I think so, the cross section of the bars isn't very round. I don't know the details on that phone holder though.

Is it possible to switch the handlebars?

How does it ride with zero motor help any thing noticed pedal only?

There is some resistance from the motor, not a lot but some. I would always ride in at least assist level 1 unless I ran out of battery. I don't really understand the reasoning to ride an ebike without any assist on purpose, in that case a non ebike would be the way to go. Cheers

I do group rides 2 times a week. 1 solo ride a week. I'm looking for an ebike that I can use for windy days, or if we climb some small hills. Is this bike a good choice for group rides?

I think that is a really good use for this bike, it rolls really well for an ebike and fits right in with other road bikes, I think it would be easy to control and get the feel of for a group ride. Thanks for the question.
