Great deck. Everything’s awesome. I’m wondering why you don’t put gussets on your foundation uprights? I understand in one direction it can’t move because of your ledger being attached to the house. But perpendicular to that movement you’d think it could shear..

We stain the framing black so it disappears in between the gaps of the boards! Its just arbor coat from Benjamin Moore!

Nice job, but why do u guys use a skidster for excavating? and not and excavator for all the ground work?

ive seen tape on the beams before, but why the mesh underlayment? Stopping bugs?

Yep! It's a screened in full porch, so this will stop the bugs from coming up from underneath. At least help, you know bugs are tricky! 🤣

All that and the house has vinyl siding.

​@@nelks1284 True, but keep in mind that everything else costs more, including building materials. Lumber prices have at least doubled in the last couple years. I'm pretty sure that is everywhere in the USA.
