TIMELAPSE: 3 YEARS OF RENOVATING AN ABANDONED FRENCH FARMHOUSE
For over 3 years, we've been renovating this old Breton stone farmhouse, using natural materials like hemp and lime to the fullest. Abandoned for over ten years, there was a lot of work to be done!! We started with renovating the main building, from floor to ceiling including the roof, plumbing, electricity... basically, everything!
This year, we'll be tackling the other buildings (which, as you can see at the end, will require some work!). Our renovation adventure is far from over, and we love it 😊!
I hope you have enjoyed this timelapse !

Your roses look beautiful. Mack is a hard worker, very focused. Finley has a lovely smile, and a slightly mischievous twinkle in his eye! I look forward to following your progress in both the UK and France.
That is a lot of work achieved. Well done. Best wishes from Australia

Thank you !
Loved how you set up home in the renovation xxx 🥰

Great, keep fighting.⚒✌✌💌❤💯

Actually it kind of was ! First we wanted to add plywood on top to finish it. At the moment we don’t really know if we want to cover it or not. We will build a library on the main wall so anyway it will be kind of covered 😊
love it! keep going

What I noticed in your video was that you had very poor insulation because I saw a lot of gaps. These are called cold bridges where condensation forms

The insulation is not done yet :)

Why did you not save and recycle the slate tiles ?
@ALdiyrenovation
They were too damaged unfortunatly. We saved barely 20 out of the whole roof 😅

Is it safe to use a lot of OSB inside the house?
@ALdiyrenovation
We are using OSB without formaldehyde, make sure the composition is safe before using it inside :)

@ALdiyrenovation

We don't have direct sunlight and we didn't want feeling like living in a cave, especially in winter.
But sooo sad that you covered over the original stone walls 🙁
@ALdiyrenovation
We covered the wall in contact with the exterior to regulate humidity and have better insulation. We will have exposed stone walls upstairs, on internal walls 😉
