This gun is often compared to the Suomi KP-31. I believe that the PPSH-41 has an overall higher rate of fire than the Suomi, though it fluctuates during sustained fire. The Suomi has a more stable rate of fire at around 900rpm, whereas the PPSH-41 can go between 1000-1300 rpm. Most of the guns in this video seem to be shooting at the higher end of the spectrum, which tbh is pretty insane. This gun kind of resembles an aircraft-mounted gun with it's huge vented barrel shroud and crazy rpm. As for which one is better... they are both really good guns. I think the Suomi may be more accurate but this gun is probably better at closer range/in urban combat. It is also far cheaper to produce and simpler in design/easier to disassemble, which made it easier to maintain and less likely to run into issues.

The 7.62 mm submachine gun of the 1941 Shpagin system (PPSH) is a Soviet submachine gun developed in 1940 by designer G. S. Shpagin under the 7.62×25 mm TT cartridge and adopted by the red Army on December 21, 1940[1]. The PPSH, along with the PPS-43, was the main submachine gun of the Soviet Armed Forces in the great Patriotic war. By the mid-1960s, the PPSH was withdrawn from service with the Soviet Army and gradually replaced by the Kalashnikov assault rifle. It is still in service with the units of the paramilitary guard and the Ministry of internal Affairs of a number of CIS countries. Also in the post-war period, PPSH was supplied in huge quantities to countries friendly to the USSR, for a long time was in service with the armies of various States, was used by irregular formations and throughout the XX century was used in armed conflicts around the world. At the moment, it is sold as a hunting carbine for Amateur shooting with minor modifications (the fire translator is welded in the position for single shots, a limiter for 10 rounds is installed in the store, the muzzle cut and the bolt Cup can be made in the area of the drummer).
