The interesting part about Nighy, if you've watched other interviews with him, is that he has this " I'm not a good actor " mindset about himself. Dude brings incredible characters to life with his acting ability but for some reason doesn't think much of himself. It could be that he just doesn't like talking about himself in general or putting himself in the spotlight, but if I think about Nighy, I would never ever describe his portrayals as " I turn up, act, get paid ", because he's incredible in every role I've seen him do.

Austin deserves the media attention he's getting now. I remember him on disney/nick spots and on the bling ring/carrie daries surprisingly. He got a standout look. In shock to see how much success he's getting now. Sometimes you never know until you work hard & deserve everything you got.

@@claudettewright365 he’s not intentionally deepening it though. Voice training changes your voice to the point of no return. It’d take him just as long to unlearn as it did to learn it. He’s probably not going to go through all the effort to unlearn it because it’d take a while and he’s still doing projects and stuff. Even if he does unlearn it, he’s still going to fall back into it every now and then because he’s been doing it so long for the movie so it’s practically ingrained in him now.

As talented all these actors are and as much as I love each one, I am hoping the Oscar goes to Austin Butler. To spend two years perfecting the role of an icon such as Elvis is incredible dedication and it paid off so well in his performance that I forgot I was watching an actor play him. Fingers crossed, if Austin doesn't get it and one of these guys do, then it still was a great win.

Great lineup! I hadn't heard of a few of these films, so it gives me something to look forward to. Have to say the devotion that Austin Butler showed in playing Elvis was incomparable. Definitely a labor of love. What he said in the beginning about coming out of a movie and the world feeling more vibrant certainly applied to "Elvis". I saw it 6 times in the theatre last summer, for that very reason. If I had a crappy day, I just headed to the theatre to see it and I always came out feeling better.
