Fujiyama Review Fuji-Q Highland Togo Hyper Coaster

When this ride opened, it was the largest in the world! To this day, it is still one of the longest roller coasters ever created. So how does the ride stack up? This is my official review of Fujiyama at Fuji-Q Highland in Japan!

    Dude! That slow 180 turn has it's purpose: Actually, you're facing Mt.Fuji !!! I feel sorry that you have a cloudy weather that you couldn't see the beautiful and unique view of the Mt.fuji. It would be amazing when normal ppl only can see the Mt.fuji from ground floor but we roller coasters enthusiast can see the Mt.Fuji on way way higher floor level. When you just finished a high enough drive and suddenly a great and beautiful mountain view smash into your face, you then have a brief time to enjoy the view and then back to another dive. This experience I would say it's rare in the world. The similar feeling I would say is Maverick at Cedar point:Great coasters and beautiful lake view.You can find it on some other POV video which recorded on a cloudless day, it's definitely that 180 slowest turn were be built on purpose.

    Personally, I thought this was better than Takabisha and one of the best in the park! I really loved the weird and sudden transitions and turns and I rank this higher than a lot of the B&M Hyper coasters I have ridden. The only thing that wasn't so amazing in my opinion was just that it was lacking in airtime. That kinda sucks that you weren't so impressed by it though.

    for me this was my second favourite ride in fuji-q highland behind eejanaika, i love the first few big drops, great views of mt fuji and surrounding area in the first high turn followed by another fun drop and a little bit of floater airtime on the hill, then just a lot more fun drops and turns with eventually that 90 degree turn low to the ground which is just awesome. Ending with twisty wacky turns which were just soo much fun, i thought it was really smooth and just overall extremely fun, which made me fall in love with this ride, just hopping back on and on back to back with single rider i just had a great time even managing to make my number 10 spot (before i rode Zadra and hyperion which kicked it to number 12) Had you gotten more rides on it you probably would've liked it more, as i had 2 days at the park and single rider so i had a bunch of rides on it.

    Why do these Togo’s go through a straight section after the lift hill before going down the drop?

  • @DerpyEdits

    @DerpyEdits

    4 жыл бұрын

    Pre-drop. Old B&M coasters have these for the same reason: it puts less stress on the chain-lift to drop the coaster onto a pre-drop than to release the train straight down the first hill. The train starts to speed up as it drops which yanks the chain along with it. Modern rides don't worry about this because of advancements made to the lift motors that allow them to deal with the stress. Not sure exactly how they do this, but nevertheless!

    I went to FujiQ in November last year with my brother. And for us eijanaika and Fujiyama were by far our favourites then takabisha and Dododonpa. When we went it was overcast and thought it would be rained out but thankfully it opened as usual. Eijanaika was quite bumpy but was an insane experience. When we got on Fujiyama the trees were still in that full autumn bloom and the ride up was so stunning you have no clue. And then at the crest, the clouds literally parted around the peak of mt Fuji. Seriously unforgettable. I can see how you might find Fujiyama boring but to me it was like a scenic cruise through Japans natural beauty. Overall we enjoyed Fujiq a tonne and would highly recommend it to anyone

    I’m pretty sure that in the 1990s that track was manufactured with computers since B&M pretty much dominated the 90s with that technology. Definitely in the 2000s that tech was implemented. Just up until the late 1980s were coasters done being built by hand.

    If I had to defend it for having those sections where it does nothing I would say it most likely has those bits for people to enjoy the view, it’s a very scenic location and I’m sure part of the reasoning behind designing the elements that way was so people could look around and enjoy being up high (since there weren’t a whole lot of roller-coasters that went this high back in the day, especially in Japan).

    Love thevpaint scheme. If I was to bring any 2 togo coasters to my dream park I build in my mind it would be surf coaster leviathan because I love its layout and the ultra twister with the dive loop. I would try to have togo come out of retirement to do some trackwork so they stay all made by togo and to kind of redeem japan as a country 😆 also the reason this coaster is big n slow its because the Japanese LOVE jet coasters so they just made the world's largest jet coaster. They like views more than forces. When they came to America they didn't get that we like forces they were completely unable to design crazy looping coasters. Big apple and viper were both firsts for then.

    apparently it rides WAY better in the back car. We were assigned mid-train during our visit, and I thought the first 2/3rds were great, but the last 3rd was brutal with awful transitions. It was only running gold train, so lines were really long, and I did not buy a skip the line for a 2nd ride. But those I was with did, and got put in back car and said it was fantastic. with my ride on it tho, I'd rank the coasters in the park as such: 1) Eejanaika (rode 4 times) 2) Do-Dodonpa (rode 3 times) 3) Takabisha (rode 3 times) 4) Fujiyama (rode once) wild mouse was permanently closed, and the suspended family was down during my visit, so didn't get to ride that. But the raft ride is fantastic, and soaking (buy a poncho if you ride) the Air Race runs a great cycle, as does the skyscreamer, and the Frisbee (themed to Pizza!)
