FUJITSU MINI SPLIT REMOTE BATTERY AND TIME

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Fujitsu mini split units come with a remote for setting desired temp and various heating and cooling modes. In order for the wall mounted unit to work properly you should program the day and time into the remote and upload it (SEND) to the wall unit. Of course you will need to first insert the batteries. Learn the correct way to install batteries and program day and time.
Note the remote only displays the desired temperature and never the current room temperature. The only way to see the room temperature is with a wifi enable unit and the FGL Air app.

    On the current app, all you did is click on the little circle next to it and it will populate with the current air temperature. Realize the temp sensor is near the ceiling therefore it may not be representative of the temperature where people are.

    @@mabbaticchio Good to hear, the remote can be a bit confusing. FYI, I have read that unlike regular heating and cooling units that you can set diff temps for day and night to save energy, ductless units are most efficient when left at one temp. We let ours run 24/7 all year long at one temp, however due to spring humidity we do switch from heat to cool.

    @@cfldriven thanks for the tip. Mine is for a 22 x 11 space in the basement that we recently had finished. I love it. Was using a space heater in winter and window unit AC in the summer. The heat works great. Can’t wait to put the AC to the test. I hated that window AC. So loud and inefficient.

    @@mabbaticchio My only disappointment in the summer is it doesn't pull enough moisture out of the air, southern humidity, and thus I have to run a separate dehumidifier. On the good side the house stays cool regardless of how hot it gets.

    Why does Fujitsu not have an ambient Rm temp displayed anywhere? It’s nice to know what the Rm temp is so you can accurately adjust the setpoint. Obviously it has an ambient sensor I know that , my question is more why isn’t it displayed anywhere? It would also help with troubleshooting, I have it set for 70 deg set point( cooling) , display says 80 deg in the room but the unit isn’t running etc

  • @cfldriven

    @cfldriven

    I agree the remote should display the ambient temp. The app will display the ambient temp that the unit is reading, which of course is different then the room temp as the unit is usually higher up where it is warmer.

    Thanks for the reply . Can you tell me what App to use? I didn’t know there was one that could be used with all models without some type of aftermarket tstat. I’m confused how that would work if there was no network connection to the unit how would it relay info to the app? Thanks

    @@drewspencer4575 It is the same app mentioned at the beginning of the video, it is called FGLair. It will work on all Fujitsu units with built in WiFi. It allows for controlling multiple units from your phone.

    Owen, turn off remote, then hold down Up temp arrow for about 5 seconds, you will see either an F or C. Use either up or down temp arrow to choose your preference. After selection press the power button again. Hope this helps.

    I found it better than the Mitsubishi remote. The good thing is once set there no need to fiddle with the remote except for time change and maybe from heating to cooling. If you use the Auto function then it just handles temp year round.

    @@patrickdumass7611 I read somewhere that unlike regular HVAC settings that can achieve savings by using timer setting throughout the day, the mini splits become less efficient. For example with the old system we would set a diff temp for when the house was empty during the day. With the mini-split it automatically detects the absence of humans and adjust accordingly, so I found no reason to use the confusing timer settings on the remote. While some of the functions are confusing on the remote in practice we haven't needed to use any of them to remain comfortable year round.
