Interesting kit. About 30 years ago I got the 1/400 UPC kit of this ship. I was going to convert it into the CV-6 Enterprise, to go with my Revell/Monogram CVN-65, because I couldn't find a CV-6 in that scale at that time. Glad I didn't get around to building it, cause now that I know the history of it I want to build it as it was. Also, since then I have half a dozen kits of CV-6 from the new Revell 1/1200 up to the 1/350 I Love Kit and more in between. Think I might want this kit too! Might be fun to do a diorama of the two ships in battle, even though that never actually happened. But if she hadn't been sunk on her maiden voyage, I bet there's a good chance she could've encountered the Enterprise at some point in the war. Anyway, just wanted to share this with a fellow modeller. We hear about the other Japanese carriers, but this one seems largely overlooked. Nice to see someone else out there doing one too. Have a better one!

Good video, just out of interest do you use a knife/scalpel to cut and trim the parts from the surrounding plastic?
